We had a fridge that was manufactured in 1998 that lasted until November of last year when it failed irreparably. We replaced it, and 13 months later, 2 days before thanksgiving, our new fridge failed. It was like pulling teeth to get the warranty servicer to get it repaired.
Repairman finally figured out what was wrong with it yesterday, replaced the seized up defroster and it’s running again.
That’s still so ridiculous for an appliance to break that early in its lifetime.

It is apparently good at making animated media however its format is incompatible with many software media viewers.
It’s the bane of my existence when trying to save an image, but I am also exploring its uses in making animated backgrounds for graphical chat interfaces.

Metadata on this one shows June 2020 (I’ve had it since at least 2015 tho)

I was not aware. I’ll give that a try, thanks

There are two things that are keeping me attached to Windows - my PC not supporting Win11, and Photoshop. My god, if anyone can get a copy of Photoshop to work with Linux, I will say goodbye to Microsoft immediately.
(Yes, I’ve tried GIMP, Krita, et al. They didn’t click for me. This is what 24 years of working with Photoshop does to a mf)

The Assholes will always win

I’ll give that a try, thank you!

Jesus, this is scary stuff. Thanks for the link, gonna try my other browsers and devices when I get home.

Ok, cool. It was mainly my ISP I was worried about.
Would be useful for me to find a browser that obfuscated fingerprinting efforts too though.

Does that mean my ISP can still detect if I’m going to websites they don’t approve of if I’m using Mullvad as my VPN but using Firefox as my browser?

It’s likely trying to shill its AI-generated folk country “music” from what I can discern from its profile.

It’s still very gross that it’s trying to blend in with the rest of us.
Also on its profile it says it’s an “AI creator” so it doesn’t explicitly label itself as an account completely piloted by AI.

Check this 16-hour-old account’s comment history. This is an LLM bot and its maker didn’t format its comments correctly. There’s a stray quotation mark at the end of each AI generated comment.

This is an LLM bot. Its comments have not been correctly formatted such that it leaves a stray quotation at the end.
Comfort movie: Matilda
Movie I could watch 1000 times: The Lion King (1994)

This is an LLM bot.
I regret wasting all those years trying to fight back all the bots I flagged on that hot garbage platform.
But I’m grateful that I gained skills on how to identify an LLM bot from a mile away.
Now that they’re starting to creep in Lemmy, I’m prepared.
