The main thing is that pipewire is a drop-in replacement because of how it works, wayland isnt

8·17 days agoYou can use youtube without being logged in (and there are alternate frontends too, but they all have issues whenever google decides to break stuff).
If you want to follow people you can actually do it without an account through RSS
tbf if your desktop environment gets uninstalled after “sudo apt install steam” it’s not entirely the user’s fault
the original steam machines had linux in a protonless time so they didn’t have much appeal in the first place
the og steam controller has hall effect triggers and I never heard any issues with them, some third party controller companies like 8bitdo have also used hall effect on their sticks for a while and I don’t think I’ve seen any complains.
that said, the sticks are gonna be TMR which is … slightly different magnetic technology.

I set TearFree in the mesa driver settings (not sure if it’s amd only?) so there’s no tearing even without vsync, I have a small 50hz display and a 1080p 120hz without issues

I buy stuff on bandcamp during bandcamp fridays (which allegedly gives all revenue to the artist), but you need the artist to be there in the first place.

1·3 months agoWhat do you mean? steam input works as long as you have steam, your controller doesn’t matter unless it’s a really really rare unsupported controller
now if only they sold them in my country…
Every time there’s been need for manual intervention the update just fails, I check the news to do the thing, then update as usual
there’s a bajillion ways and some of them are literally “copy the thing into the thang”
