That’s the core of my point though. Once you add depth it’s not 2d space anymore (even though the screen is 2d, the represented field is 3D) and y becomes depth.

homeassistant@lemmy.world•Can Ring Alarm Keypad "Phone Home" via Sidewalk?English
2·5 days agoIMO you can never be too suspicious of companies. Especially ones interested in your data.
For your keypad, if it is zwave only you are probably fine. But if it has any WiFi capability let alone requirements as most do, then no. You can control your network but if you aren’t hooked into AWS then you can’t alter settings, and assuming you get sidewalk turned off, I would still expect it will likely piggyback data through sidewalk anyways because fuck consumer line go up.
I do use CAD software but always have my items resting on an x/y plane with z being height. I do some 3d printing and basic cad designs, so z being elevation still makes sense there.
Lol I was just ranting into the void but glad it resonated for you.
Z is elevation. Any real world application, z goes up down. 3D applications SHOULD use it for elevation. I despise that many do not. It’s so fucking confusing. 2D, sure y go brrr. But once that 3rd dimension is added, y needs to take several seats and quit trying to take on dimensions it doesn’t have any right to.
How big are you going to gauge them?
Win+x, a, left, enter. Admin power shell in a quick combo.
But I also get what you are saying. I’m leaving windows because of this. Migrating my services ATM then the last thing will be my win10 desktop.

3·6 days agoAndroid is technically based on Linux so maybe go with a custom ROM like Grapheme? I’ve found the experience on it to be enjoyable personally and feel a lot better about my security even if I don’t lock it down as hard as some people.

2·15 days agoYeah the only things I have a google account for are YouTube and the play store. And the play store is getting less use now that I have moved to Graphene. So nothing core to my life thankfully. Now if I can get my MS utilization down to that I will be feeling pretty good.

1·15 days agoIt’s really frustrating to me how enmeshed the big three are in our daily lives. And how difficult it can be to fully cleave from them.

My ddr4 now costs more than I bought it for originally. This after having dipped below $70 for 32GB. Now it’s over 300.
