1·12 days agoI use privacy bee. It’s way more expensive than the others but it’s US owned, based, and doesn’t advertise on YouTube or have ties to the same data brokers it claims to protect you from

91·16 days agoYeah you can definitely bully AI into giving you some thing that will run if you yell at it long enough. I don’t have that kind of patience
Edit: typically I see it just silently dump errors to /dev/null if you complain about it not working lol

92·16 days agoAI can help you be more agile in getting out a PoC but vibe coding always ends up eating itself and you either aren’t capable enough to fix it (because you are a vibe coder) or you spend more time on the back 9, trying to clean up the code so you don’t have so many hacks and redundancy because the AI was too literal or hallucinated fake libraries that return null or its context window expired and it wrote 5 different versions of the same function

6·1 month agoThis isn’t refuting your point at all, but if we complain that porn gives young men unrealistic expectations for sex now, wait until they can generate literally anything and that becomes their new normal for their expectations.
(To be fair, they’ve always been able to do this if their imaginations were big enough)

2·2 months agoIs this some sort of misguided patriotism? I don’t see what the propaganda we are supposedly falling for is. Is it not as equally accurate to say that public opinion and outcry led to it not coming to a vote? I think keeping that public outcry is important to defeat future attempts to undermine rights. Don’t think it can’t happen in the EU. It’s happening if the US

Technology@lemmy.world•"Very dramatic shift" - Linus Tech Tips opens up about the channel's declining viewershipEnglish
172·3 months agoI think it’s a loss of talent and shuttering of shows across his company’s channels that are leading it. I can only watch so many “reporting verbatim the benchmark results of new tech product” or “I made my family a sleeper desk” or “dark horse home theater for my kid” videos. I’d much rather watch the highly produced “Mac Address” videos with Jonathan or retro gaming systems and setups videos with Anthony but they aren’t a part of LMG anymore.
Riley is doing well on tech linked but he’s talented enough to get a real job and after that, what’s the last interesting thing that LMG has? WAN show clips?
I would be fine with an 8k TV if there was 8k content and they were affordable. I haven’t purchased a TV in over a decade however and my TVs all work fine so I’m not even in the market

The big lie is that the dog can never catch the car because it isn’t trans people or immigrants or minorities that are oppressing republicans. It’s their politicians, the corruption that is ingrained into the system, and the rich that fight to keep the system rigged that are oppressing them and clearly republicans will never fix that

201·3 months agoLemmy is pretty anti-AI. Or at least the communities I follow are. I haven’t seen anyone blame the kid or the parents near as much as people rightfully attributing it to OpenAI or ChatGPT. edit- that is until I scrolled down on this thread. Depressing
When someone encourages a person to suicide, they are rightfully reviled. The same should be true of AI
