Oh yeah I don’t mean to imply that it’s a guaranteed success, you’re right.
The hype is real though.

I mean thats gonna be the joke. If steam machine really does take off, developers will come, just like they’re starting to cater to the deck. It’ll set a standard for what people want to play on and what they need to make sure their game works on. This is beyond anti cheat and DRM but it’ll be interesting to see how the momentum picks up.
I’d bet that Microsoft is already thinking about getting gamepass working on it (for better or worse)

We need to democratize the internet again, every generation there’s a ma bell pretending they own the internet. Current Gen is Google, AWS, Azure and the like, with ISPs just making sure they get their cut.
I don’t have an issue with these services existing, but in such a way that everything depends on a couple companies? Dangerous for everyone.

I think this almost articulates how I feel about the whole thing. Absolutely, the world will be a better place once everyone moves to Linux, but the Linux community sometimes has a hard time with not coming off like pedantic, high horsing assholes.
Not saying there’s not great resources or welcoming communities out there, but the just use Linux crowd doesn’t look like any fun.

Already out of ideas?
I think this is all really subjective and depends on how your team does work. Getting people to work with you or understand things is a communication problem, and in my own experience, being in the office didn’t eliminate those issues.
I agree there are times to be in the office, but it damn sure doesn’t need to be every day all the time. IMO people need to adapt, be smart and figure out what works for their teams and themselves, not hold themselves to tradition for its own sake.
Managers should be empowered to make these decisions to do the research and figure out the best strategy for their situation, and I think many would like that responsibility.
Finally, some good TV :)
I probably have some bad karma :(
Yikes, I didn’t know I was being hostile, sorry I hurt your feelings.
How does that help me though?
Welcome to the residence of evil, son.
Humor is also part of how we cope with reality as humans, I think.
Even when we’re in the trenches, there’s gonna be some jokes being cracked.
That being said, it’s totally fine to feel this way too, shit is serious and it feels awful
I mean, people are gonna bite my head off for this, but most non technical folks are turned off by someone calling them stupid… That’s what “RTFM” sounds like. I think there needs to be a culture change to drive adoption, but stuff like the Steam Deck is helping a lot.

This is absurd, they have no business doing this.
I know this is a meme, but I’ve been feeling this in my bones lately. I hope I’m ok.
Solving the “being human” part of security will probably never happen, which is why you’re encouraged to do stuff like use 2FA, different passwords, service isolation and stuff like that.
Anyone and everyone can be fooled at some point, best to try and limit the damage.

I don’t have an opinion on the man personally, but I won’t buy a Samsung TV as they are ad riddled, terrible to use and are pretty fragile.

Not that you aren’t entitled to your opinion, but software running on a Tesla is, in many ways just as mallaible as code on a vacuum robot.
There are several challenges, but basically the protections stopping people from reading and writing firmware would need to be defeated.
I think there have been some software jailbreaks on earlier models already that have been patched, but software is complicated, it’s hard be bug free.
Whenever I see the Purble eyes icon I think of that Zoombini educational game.
This dude is a huge POS
