Yea, they might be incompetent while still fully implementing bad ideas
My theory is that Reddit is being run incompetently, without good strategy. The problem is it’s too big to fail so whatever it does seems mysterious only

Looking at the reviews, ignoring the mega hats, it seems part of the app does not work from time to time

I think it’s good to be humbled
Every region in the world has its way of doing things. When new layers of control are added, it makes some people nervous.
When the new controls are perhaps mismanaged and corrupt, promising to do more than advertised, it makes some people angry. Especially during an increase of lawlessness and corruption of the central government. Especially when it uses the same messaging which has already harmed many

There is a popular feeling of support in Iran right now, a rally around the flag that even many of the women who were protesting against the government are supporting.
Locking down the internet to suppress protests, or to suppress news, is not what is happening. Indeed the more damage that is shown the more patriotic Iranians become.

0 is very overrated

I try to set it to seldom used numbers. It’s part of my fight to remain human in a conforming world.

May the api access rest in peace

I bet this is just correlation. Frequent reliance on AI ( and not just using it as a tool for a specific reason)

When I was growing up, being a garbage collector paid well enough to own a house and send kids to college. It was a bit smelly, yes. But it paid well. And because it was a government job (local not federal or state) it was secure and had good benefits. People were not laid off or the city would stink.
Also, this was before a lot of automation so there were more people working on each truck
I do not know how it pays today.

Apologies, no offense meant.

Aaaaarrgg! This is horrible they stopped AI summaries, which I was hoping would help corrupt a leading institution protecting free thought and transfer of knowledge.
Sincerely, the Devil, Satan

It’s going to get wild

Nothing is stopping the AI summaries from using social media as the primary source

Now you hit me curious too. This was my source on Texas https://www.texasalmanac.com/place-types/town
Also the total number of total towns is over 4,000 with only 3k unincorporated, I did get the numbers wrong even in Texas.
I had looked at Wikipedia but could not find totals, only lists

I know the Texas count is accurate, I looked it up. I was too lazy and uninspired to look at other states. However I would be surprised if it were not at least half the corporate areas, nationally in total?
I just here for the first time, I find it liberating, almost daring behavior
