I don’t know how cheap pi5 are where you are but I would advise to have a look at one of those small pc with n100 or n150 processor. They are really low powered (close to pi5) and you will get a more powerful device. They cost around 150€ (even 100 on sale).
You can also use a ZigBee smart plug and connect your 5v power supply to it
That’s cool but reading this it feels like nothing is being done on home assistant. Is that correct?

I can’t remember any name but search for f2f (friend to friend) p2p. Basically a private way to share files over p2p to limited people you have accepted without any use of tracker like P2P use
I remember an announcement that the feature enabling remote viewing (outside of network) has/will become a paid function on Plex. But I haven’t followed it so don’t know all details

Nice. you can look out for a project with esp home and a contact sensor. Here is an exemple

Is the end goal to know if your dishwasher has finished? If so, a smart plug with power monitoring could tell you that.
Thanks for your answer, I only spend 15-20mn yesterday and have a starting prompt that doesn’t look bad (from my very limited knowledge). Would you be ok to have a look at and tell me what are your thoughts about it?
I obviously don’t realise how much work that is but thanks to you, I started one by asking AI as you recommended (didn’t even think about it, that’s shows how much I’m new to this :D). It isn’t personalised yet to my HA but I think I’m on the right track.
Since I almost never used ai, I didn’t know that people gate keep their ai knowledge so thanks for letting me know. I honestly thought it wasn’t a big deal. Also, I didn’t ask for someone to create it but asked for guidance like tips to not miss important details.
was assuming it was something very general and not specific to my HA like " you will act as a home assistant specialist giving me step by step guide to create automation, dashboard elements…" But by the feel I get from your answer, I guess I’m wrong…

+1 those are really great. And should be just below 150
Hi, If the one you link is good enough for you in term of accuracy, you can pick nearly everything you find at Aliexpress. Since you will be using rechargeable batteries, might be best to pick one without screen.
Never had an mamazon tablet but I guess it has a modified android version like their tv dongle so mostly any “real” android tablet will do, cheapest one would be less reactive but still will works. I had mine on an old Huawei tablet but today I would go for something like Xiaomi pad 6 (don’t think it is worth to get a high end tablet for that purpose), whatever you get disable battery saving functionality for kiosk app and you should be good. As for telemetry/spyware, block it at router level so it will be limited to your local network.
I’m late to the party but you could still give it a shot with frigate. I have kinda new hardware intel n100 (no coral) but as far as threads and speed, your old i7 is better according to specs sheets so I’m guessing it will work well enough for a few cameras without coral.
One of the reason for me to upgrade was power draw, specs like yours will consume a lot of energy, has a tdp of 95W while n100 is 6W.
I am mainly reading on iPad due to screen ratio, I’m self hosting yacreader library and use yacreader app (server is free, app is one time payment on iPad, does have an android/windows client but not developed as iOS version). If I remember correctly, I think there is also Panel on ipad that do the same (would need to check). On android, I need to check and can answer tomorrow (almost 1am here), could be cdisplayex but unsure.
i don’t know any on computer but some app offer that on android/ios. i guess they look for some kind of contrast pattern to determine each frame.
Did try and it does work really well on some but not all garphics novel / comics
Does it have access to boot menu? If so, change boot order so it goes to usb first. You will then only need to create a bootable usb stick with Linux on it

The most popular way (and might also be the best) is to use z2m instead of deconz
Can’t answer sorry
