Indeed, alcohol can be a problematic drug and is much more dangerous than most illicit drugs but do you assume that everyone who has a drink is doing so because they have a drinking problem?

Yeah but then how would the rich and powerful feel good about themselves?

“Increase social service programs so that we address the reason why they’re homeless and doing drugs in the first place.”
Doing drugs doesn’t imply a problem. UNODC estimates that only 10-15% of drug use is problematic. It’s not reasonable to assume that drug use is an escape from problems, any more than drinking alcohol.

Someone who says the lords name would be upset about “the lords name” specifically.
But it’s not “the lord’s name” because it’s not “the lord”, it’s “their lord”. Why would you include yourself as a subject of Christians’ “lord”?

It’s a common thing religious people say
Exactly. How come you’re saying it?

the lords name
I’m not religious
Wut? If you’re not religious, why are you using the phrase “the lords name”?
For some reason there’s still a market for cheap dedicated MP3 players.
Why would there not be?

“poor engineering” you mentioned:
None of those assert that the poor engineering is due to not using a particular distro’s packaging system. Because I have asserted no such thing.

your repeated assertion that it is poorly engineered simply because it doesn’t use a particular distros packaging system
I have asserted no such thing.
What you’ve described is not an algorithm.
This isn’t a Linux meme

The important question is: why didn’t they engineer their system this way in the first place? Wouldn’t touch their products with a 10-foot barge poll.
the lemmy.world “illegal picture scanner” … would reject my upload if it had any words relating to kids, apparently, up to and including “parenthood”
ROFL
Linux, the kernel so associated with Free Software, was at some point proprietary.
ROFL what an ignorant fool

in this case, we know it’s not because they got rid of that option. Why? Because the task is infeasible to support.
You’re not making any sense.
the devs no longer offer it as a supported method
Are you saying that the Home Assistant developers used to support distro packages?
No one is saying it is impossible
OP is saying that. They said it was “infeasible”.

Well, yeah.
Why do you think that because a person could do something they necessarily will?

it isn’t actually that feasible then, otherwise you’d do more than just whine about it on the Internet
So let me get your logic straight: you’re saying that it isn’t feasible because if it were feasible then a person who could do it would necessarily do it? LOL that makes no sense.
Willful ignorance fuelled by religious indoctrination that getting out of your head is immoral.
