Add Psych to that rotation, IMO - it should be right up your alley based on those other two shows!

1·13 days agoHonestly, if you don’t mind gaming at 1080p, and keeping graphical settings reasonable in order to maintain a playable frame rate - you could be OK for a couple more years.
Otherwise if the upgrade itch just becomes too much, the Steam Machine could very well be a suitable entry point - provided that RAM model prices don’t continue to skyrocket.
I truly cannot wait for the day that the current AI bubble bursts.

So yeah, it’s been a while!
In a lot of places, rotisserie chicken are a loss-leader - they are sold below cost in order to entice more shoppers in the hopes that they will buy enough other things to more than make up for it.
Costco does this, not only on their hotdogs but also on their chickens also.
A lot of other times, raw commodity materials are more valuable than finished goods because of the implied value; ie there is an opportunity cost associated with transforming it into a finished good.
They popped up on my YouTube shorts feed a few weeks ago; as best as I can tell they’re a fan-made set of booster cards, with the purpose of parodying/piggybacking on the current booster cracking (gambling) craze - right down to the fact that it has its own set of rare ‘chase’ cards.
I just find the low-effort art style and names charming, without ever feeling the need to participate.
Content is 100% valid.
Just wanted to jump in and say that this map looks like it was drawn by the same guy that made Pokenots:

Technology@lemmy.world•Study Boldly Claims 4K And 8K TVs Aren't Much Better Than HD To Your Eyes, But Is It True?English
3·1 month agoInterestingly enough, I was casually window browsing TVs and was surprised to find that LG killed off their OLED 8K TVs a couple years ago!
Until/if we get to a point where more people want/can fit 110in+ TVs into their living rooms - 8K will likely remain a niche for the wealthy to show off, more than anything.

111·2 months agoOh, but you can bet your bottom dollar there are still something like 20:1 ratio of dark-market
betssynthetic collateral against these shares further underpinning valuations.Legitimately fear that this will make the ‘08 meltdown look quaint in comparison, as the fiscal stress will not be limited to shares but impact loads of financial instruments (home and car loans, retirement accounts etc.).

4·2 months agoIf your fridge has a linear compressor; have a look online if your particular model is impacted by excessive failures.
Ours lasted around 3 years before kicking the bucket, despite the 10yr “warranty” (which only covered parts, and not call-out fees or labour) - only for it to be deemed uneconomical to repair.
We lost all of our food, but we did at least get a full refund. Ended up going with a Hitachi after multiple recommendations and review scouring, and haven’t been happier!

2·3 months agoYes, but they are a minority - and they alone cannot prop up the franchise if the rest boycott Disney/ABC.
ETA: you don’t need 100% to boycott in order for a campaign to be successful - there just needs to be enough to sufficiently hurt their bottom line.

Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund is currently valued at. ~$1.9 trillion USD.
They have a population of ~5.6m people.
They works out to be ~$340K USD for every man, woman and child in the nation. That’s a lot, but not anywhere generational levels of wealth.
Mind you, the above numbers aren’t perfect as it doesn’t take into consideration non-citizens living in Norway (who may not be eligible), as well as ex-pats living abroad (who would).

A quart that travelled to Europe to ‘find itself’.
