They’re really trying their best to make windows as unfriendly as possible, pretty annoying when they’ve already been paid, bunch of pricks

My favorite is the ‘here be dragons’ ASCII art, that’s how you know you’re in for a fun time

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some household chores people should do more often?
7·2 years agoBest thing I did was throw all my old socks away and just bought a dozen of the exact same socks. Never have to worry about sorting them or getting annoyed when one inevitably goes AWOL

Technology@lemmy.ml•Reddit is removing ability to opt out of ad personalization based on your activity on the platform
58·2 years agoWho didn’t see this coming? Kill all good third party apps and funnel everyone into their dogshit, undercooked app and then leverage every metric and interaction for advertising
Never even saw that one, looks great now!

World News@lemmy.ml•A Cuban teenager was offered a job doing 'construction work' in Russia. Instead he was sent to fight on the front lines in Ukraine.
32·2 years agoSucks to get drawn into that conflict. On some level surely you’d know going to Russia in war time isn’t a smart thing to do.

There are plenty of other developers, new ones that were happy to work on integrations and apps for the fediverse. While sync is great, it’s like a giant Walmart moving into the area, displacing other viable alternatives.
Pretty happy with voyager, it’s a pretty solid choice despite being styled entirely for iOS. I’ll probably look into a more Android designed / focused app going forward.

11·2 years agoIt’s still needed until the transition to full renewables is viable in most places. People still need to afford electricity so it’s a means to an end

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a scam that's so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore?
42·2 years agoThere’s next to no difference in regards to payroll processing on a week by week basis. Companies want to push this to a fortnight or month so it’s easier on their finances. There’s very little reason it couldn’t be paid weekly.
Yeah been noticing it can be pretty hit or miss, the vibe is pretty chill here but people still come out of the woodwork to dog-pile on people. The unverified allegations with LLT / Madison are a perfect example of that
Apologists like people who ask for evidence for serious allegations? Yeah those people are the worst, let me get my pitchfork
It’s like moving from Coke to Pepsi. Similar enough in it’s own way. It’s definitely better than the other budget alternatives

I’ve never even seen this thing? All the Chromecast I’ve seen over the last 4-5 years have been in-built modules in Android TVs.
