Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some items that really aren't worth paying the expensive version for?
891·2 years agoIn the UK, baked beans.
In my work we did a blind taste test of 10 different brands of baked beans, with participants ranking them in order from best to worst. The name brand options such as Heinz, HP, and Branstons ended up in the middle, with the cheaper options from Aldi and Asda being the best. The most expensive beans were from Marks and Spencer and were voted the worst ones.
If you’re paying more than 50p a can its not worth it.

1·2 years agoI just leave the zone focus on the middle setting most of the time, I think the focus zone is 1.2m to infinity according to the manual. If something is over 5m I use the long distance focus. I barely ever use the close focus unless I’m taking a portrait.

1·3 years agoThe viewfinder in the x300 has a light meter and recommends what shutter speed to set the camera to depending on what you have the lens set to, normally I try and get this to be 500 or 1000 and it seems to work. I’m sort of just winging it as I’ve only just started photography :)
Holon in Israel around 2013 right?
