5·21 days agoI was opposed to the bailouts in 08’, and I’m severely against any of these fuckers getting more resources to attack me. It’s absurd. What’s more absurd is that both aisles will support it, but Americans healthcare will be at 5k a month 😂〽️
Cleptocracy much?
Russia peacefully invades and bombs Ukraine and in return these Ukrainian and European Nazis cause war by daring to resist.
Human rights abuses by Russians count in the thousands, ironically against its own citizens and Ukrainians. Russia is currently perpetuating genocide in the eastern regions, not Ukraine. You do realize you’re advocating for a regime that has murdered millions of it’s own citizens, it is a bit absurd to try to gaslight.

Yes, I forgot Ukraine invaded Russia in 2014 then again in 2022. Must have got my history wrong.
Also they pushed intense propaganda while Russia was deploying Nukes in Belarus and along the border then gas lighted the shit out of Zerohedgers and RT’ers and blamed the west.
The USA is analogous to the Soviet Union. Fake food, fake happiness, fake or poor quality everything- even beyond just goods and services. American speech is fake, the political class, intentionality, even well meaning people are fake. Nothing is meaningful with intention. Their democracy is fake, and so is their standing and success. All fake. Their clothes are cheap slop, everything is brand obsession but with zero substance, all marketing. Brand obsession might as well be considered a form of propaganda at this point, as the line between branding and political influence is blurry. They destroyed what semblance of country and community they once had.
They’re on the verge of having one helluva hangover when they sober up.
The worst part is, they don’t know it. They are living in a bubble that is bombarded with corporatism/ political propaganda.
They invented driving to a place, to go for a walk.

3·2 months agoYes of course, electric motors are by and far more reliable, stronger, faster, cleaner, quieter, less polluting, simpler, easier to repair, cheaper… should I continue…
Electric vehicles on the other hand 😅
Ah nice, haha can’t believe I couldn’t find that! Thank you :)
There a good noob guide someplace? How do people build communities that gain traction on Lemmy?
Can you setup a new community on Voyager app?

Unfortunately, this model is probably already deemed illegal. Regulatory capture is a beautiful thing 👀😬🙊

173·2 months agoYou mean the Bezos mobile? Not a chance in hell.
Ownership has been flipped upside down for modern EV owners (and actually a lot more). You don’t own the machine, nor the keys, you license the experience- software, data, and even the ability to start/ move the vehicle. 30k+ for remote access, EULAs, feature subscriptions to a connectivity mesh? Also the monthly connectivity costs and software updates for… how long?
I’m not sure EV’s are the brilliant solution to modern transport, entertainment perhaps but little to nothing to do with modern or futuristic transport.

It’s super intimidating when the weight of the weight of the global hacking community is attacking you from the moment you expose a port.
Is their progress on a simple sustainable solution to security? Is this the primary roadblock to self hosting becoming more common place? Or am I way off

141·4 months agoIt destroys incentive for speculative behavior on land. LVT increases density, reduces infrastructure costs, vastly increases distribution of housing. It increases the incentive to use the property and or improve property on the land. Property, houses, buildings etc are not taxed, the land below it is. It is extremely pro environmental, even pro business. It’s implementation is simple. It’s pro the 99 percent and harms owners of large parking lots in urban dense areas (the poorest use of land and essentially a speculative hold).
Norway used economic concepts from Henry George to utilize their vast carbon resources for the benefit of the many.
It takes the harmful effects of capitalism and turn it on its head. It is probably exactly what the USA craves. A decentralized bottom up movement in the USA pushing for these kinds of pro human, environmental economic policies could easily overwhelm the current political, tech bro corporatism elements in the USA.
Henry George absolutely solved the issue of poverty and inequality from a incentives/ structural economic standpoint. It is only the will of the 99 percent that is lacking. The 1 percent can be overthrown easily, in a quick and bold flick of the hand.
