SteamOS was my tutorial and today I run Arch on my main system. But I like learning and I like the fact that I can build my own system and choose my own components. I understand that Arch is not for everyone but for me it’s perfect.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Learn GNU sed with hundreds of examples and exercises
2·9 months agoThank you so much for this! I will check it out as soon as I have more time. Up until now I have relied on ChatGPT for my sed needs but I would prefer to learn it myself. Sed always felt pretty complicated to me.
The functionality is already there and sure, it could be made more user-friendly. But that requires a lot of invested time and money, which can be pretty lacking in the open source space. If the Linux developers had Microsoft resources then Windows would be long dead.
Maybe try a better distro if you can’t confuigure the one you use? I haven’t had problems on Arch after setting it up properly.
Since when is Linux = Gnome?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Valve's plan to bring SteamOS to more devices is a promising sign if you want to stop gaming on WindowsSvenska
2·1 year agoThe Steam controller 2 will be releasing soon if you want trackpads and extra buttons. I also think Valve is licencing to third parties. IIRC 8bitdo will make a Steam Controller

Also, fuck GNOME. When I tried Ubuntu in 2009 it was GNOME that made me hate Linux until I learned that KDE Plasma was a thing.
