Thanks for the tip!
Also with the most recent update, the halo collar app no longer has access to Google satellite data IF you operate Graphene OS. I suspect Google is the culprit because the folks at Halo have no idea how to fix this bug

1·2 months agoSaṃsāra is a Sanskrit word that means “wandering” as well as “world,” wherein the term connotes “cyclic change” or, less formally, “running around in circles.” In the context of Indian religions and philosophies, saṃsāra is the concept of all beings experiencing an ongoing cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
In Hindu Philosophy and some Indian religions, samskaras or sanskaras are mental impressions, recollections, or psychological imprints that colour one’s thoughts and actions, and form the basis for the development of karma theory. In Buddhism, the Sanskrit term saṃskāra is used to describe “mental formations,”

31·3 months agoGreat question. So this money goes directly to people, instead of through a charity. We are cutting out the middle man, and it affects EVERYONE with cash, not just a select few who know how to benefit from the charity and qualify for their supplies or whatever the charity provides. It’s awesome for us, but not as awesome for the billionaires and multimillionaires. The only real benefit for them is, they get to keep their heads!

51·3 months agoIt’s a nonprofot org which basically just does monthly UBI to your bank account when you sign up… They did the math and it turns out you only need a few thousand people of diverse economic backgrounds for it to be viable.
From what I understand it’s like a phone banking app, but more secure, and it takes something like 10% of your earnings each month, then returns a lump sum to everyone of around $500 almost immediately. So people earning $40k/yr will net a couple hundred dollars per month. If you make nothing that month you will get closer to $1000 People who make $100k/yr will lose a couple hundred dollars. And the multimillionaires will lose a couple Gs a month (which sounds like a lot but it’s negligible to them).

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do people have issues with OnlyFans Models and Porn Stars.
11·3 months agoIt’s hard to predict who you will fall for in 2,5, or 10 years. You will want to be honest with that person, and it might turn them off to know your history. Luckily, after enough time has passed, and you’ve really worked on yourself, it shouldn’t really matter what you did 10-20 years ago.
In my opinion, you are better off finding yourself a consistent fuck-buddy for in between relationships. A mutual arrangement, rather than a bunch of one night stands, is much safer for your mental health (assuming no one catches feelings).

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do people have issues with OnlyFans Models and Porn Stars.
1·3 months agoThis is coming off as defensive, which I expected after making a comment like that. Could it be that I said something you weren’t ready to hear?
I have known men and women with 10-20 body count who have no issues in relationships because that’s just natural exploration. But spending more time focusing on sex than working on your self DEFINITELY has an effect on your ability to maintain a LTR. You have to feel the loneliness and embrace it, sometimes. You have to use your excess energy to workout, volunteer, make friends, go to therapy, learn a trade, and meet yourself, instead of putting it into a bunch of random (or toxic) partners you don’t really want to spend the rest of your life with.
If you can’t focus your energy on constructive things, your soul suffers. You get weak/soft, and uninteresting as a partner. It took years for me to build up real inner strength again and women notice that shit. This is not just advice for women, it’s advice for men too. It takes months to know someone, and even longer to get over them if you’ve had sex with them. There’s a limited amount of time we have in our 20s, and if you have sex with a bunch of people too early, you’ve probably wasted that time.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do people have issues with OnlyFans Models and Porn Stars.
17·3 months agoI have no problem with them doing it, I just probably would never date anyone who has had an only fans. It’s something young women/men should be aware of that they automatically exclude themselves from a huge part of the dating pool when they make a decision like that. If they are ok with that, more power to them! Kind of like having 30+ sexual partners. It seems to take pieces of your soul, and it takes decades of work to get those pieces back together in my opinion. Most people are inherently turned off by that for a reason.

This is a silly argument, but it looks like they did the study already and the two games are basically tied for first haha
https://www.whichbingo.co.uk/news/which-gamers-are-the-smartest/
Definitely. I haven’t done the study but sometimes you don’t have to. Some games just have a more difficult learning curve than others. Like the average IQ of chess players is higher than that of your average checkers player. But more often I think it’s a matter of lack of patience. That’s why Dota games are getting shorter - to appeal to the shorter attention spans of our generation
My bad I was just looking at the prize pool from those old TI tournaments ($12 million). And my information is outdated. Suffice to say a larger audience doesn’t mean a better game. In my experience, for every big pop culture phenomenon in history, there’s always been a better version of it which goes underappreciated because it appeals to a smaller audience base. Most of the LoL or FPS player base is just a little bit too stupid or impatient for Dota 2, so they can’t handle the two year learning curve
Yeah once you have soured on one, I can imagine it would be really hard to enjoy another, since they are so incredibly similar. Dota came first so the game and nearly every hero in league is somehow based on a Dota hero. I’ll grant it’s a more accessible (shorter learning curve) game which is why the player base is higher, but the reason the pro scene is so much bigger and more established in Dota is precisely because it is so meticulously balanced and rebalanced each month.

I figured Mapbox gets their data from Google maps satellite data
