I don’t mean to discount the deranged ramblings in there, but I’d say the parts about technology and its effects on society (arguably the most central parts) are much more intriguing.

“Can’t have your cake and eat it too”
vs.
“Can’t eat your cake and have it too”
Only one of these makes sense, but the other one is what’s been used for a long time now. If I have a cake, then I can definitely eat it, but if I eat it, then I can no longer have it.
Edit: I don’t mean to disagree with the simple fact that languages evolve over time. But having a majority dictate the meanings of words isn’t something I like. The example of “antisemitism” (a bunch of people are using the word to describe valid criticism of the state of israel) raised in an other comment here is also very relevant.
Lunar rays are rarer than sunbeams, because the Moon is dimmer.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a celebrated invention/discovery attributed to a single person but, had they not done it at the time, it is likely that someone else would have done it anyway not long after?
16·23 days agoIt’s called Multiple discovery. And there’s really no need for collective conciousness. People working with the same information will simply figure out the same solutions to the eqations.
My job is to do weather observations every half an hour, or when the situation changes drastically enough to warrant an update. I used to get a bit stressed out about noticing the clock approach one of the routine times while not at work (because that’s when I haven’t been keeping an eye on the sky so oh shit now I gotta figure it out fast!), but I think I’ve gotten mostly out of that pavlovian response. Many of my colleagues say that they also get this. But the phone alarm (a manufacturer default) that goes off at that time as a reminder definitely triggers it. Luckily I’ve only heard it like once or twice outside of work.
But isn’t that just a different way to dry it?
You keep saying the same things over and over again. I’m sure there are more constructive ways to work towards your goals. Find like minded people irl, make friends and form a community to watch out for each other. Your current method of posting the same ideas over and over again with these memes emulating the graphical style of a psych ward patient almost seem like a psyop to discredit the ideas as paranoid delusions.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What forums or guides can I use to bypass age verification walls without my real id or VPN or TOR? (Online Safety Act)
1·2 months agoReddit works fine with tor. At least old.reddit, and I’m not using an account. Sometimes it requires a couple of refreshes or a new path.
IIRC they also have an onion site.

Currently I get my salary indirectly from the International Practical Chemtrail Cabal (IPCC), with the social media PR side more as a side hustle.
I think existence is preferable to nonexistence. Sure life sucks a lot, but then there’s also the beauty hidden all around us, which when revealed, reminds me that it’s good that I didn’t kms. Similarly, it makes me glad to have been born in the first place.
Do you need a job to live? If not, then you’re free to refuse such hierarchies. But most of us do need a job to live, and so the choice you claim to exist doesn’t really exist.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•OK, not to be runde or anything, but why is your banner AI generated
1·5 months agoX being bad is no argument against doing something (even a little) about a different bad thing Y. Fuck excessive flight travel and fuck generative AI. There’s no need to only pick one thing to hate.
Not if it can’t spring off due to being pressed against the ground by the weight of the bird. I suspect that’s part of the joke. Don’t scare the bird.

52·5 months agoOk, well in that case I guess we should just keep looking at those ugly as shit pixar-ish chipmunks. Maybe their cutesy faces will motivate someone of the 5k monthly visitors here to become the next unabomber who finally defeats Peter Thiel.
It’s just a single png. If somebody kicks up their feet and stops caring after getting the mods to change it, then do you honestly think that they could’ve gotten anything significant done in the first place?
how pretty the sky looks when I happen to notice it.
I second this one with every fibre of my being. Look at the sky every chance you get. Clouds are beautiful.
Photography also helped me learn to keep my eyes open for all the pretty sights around. There’s a lot more of those waiting to be witnessed out there than one might think.

If it’s thick enough, then it won’t bend that easily. Depends entirely on the badge.
