Companies based in China can, in fact, develop real technology. The US engages in more espionage thsn anyone, but that doesnt mean US companies can’t develop real tech.

There are real people and real innovations being made in China and it’s so wrong to just summarily dismiss them because they happen to live in a world power that does what all world powers do.

And yet China keeps populating these “ghost towns” over and over again. Almost like the term is nothing more than a xenophobic, alarmist misnomer.

Organize with your local anti-fascists. Unfortunately, some people will never be swayed.

I’ll be honest, i really do get that it’s repetitive seeing people reply to every Meloni-related post with basically the same message, but the fact is that it simply needs to be said. People can’t ignore how irresponsible the reporting on fascism in Italy is, because if we do, that just allows them to keep moving the Overton window towards apathy, and apathy is a dangerous thing in this context.

Google made $7 billion from YouTube in 2021^[1], might I remind you by running ads on other peoples’s content. Now of course Google does provide the platform for that content, but the point still remains.

Users and content creators are what make YouTube, not the other way around. Companies like Google need to careful not to let their pursuit of profit upset the good thing they have going for them.
