It’s true, but I also can’t bring myself to say it!

I use opensuse (tumbleweed and slowroll) because I just wanted to try it out a few years back and it mostly just works.
If I were to reinstall today, I’d probably use fedora again, since it’s much easier to use things like Waydroid.
Cars in cities.
You don’t realize how insane they are until you spend time somewhere without them.

Just (like most places in Croatia) make sure not to go during peak season!
Yeah I have used opensuse for the past couple years (still do!) but while there is plenty to like, if I were to do a reinstall I would likely move back to Fedora.
Then again, I basically never use YaST, which I suppose is one of the main song points.
It’s literally not any different. Starlink is just a less-reliable broadband internet connection, it has nothing to do with WiFi
For me, I like that it isn’t overcomplicated and just works. It being basic is a big pro to me.
I can see what you’re saying, but at this point Elon is the most powerful person in the US, and certainly more powerful than any politician (even Trump).
I don’t think everyone realizes how unbelievably, dangerously rich Elon is. The dude is a moron, but he has enough money to buy out all of our politicians many many times over.

2·10 months agoI only have to use this occasionally, but on my android I use the app “Talkatone” to make free calls to phones. They have paid plans to keep your number, but I tend to just use new ones whenever one expires.
It might not suit your needs, but it’s worked pretty reliably for me for the past 10 years or so.
Depends how these are defined. Public parking or on-street parking are likely in a different category, not to mention people’s driveways.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you believe that most people of your political creed don't?
183·10 months agoWanting less/more immigration are both perfectly valid positions.
Immigration can provide opportunities to a country but can also cause issues and it’s undemocratic and dangerous to demonize either position on the issue.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•What's your self-induced pain points fellow linux users
3·10 months agoI do a lot of programming, which is generally easiest with the US layout (since most languages were designed using this) but I also type frequently in a couple other languages which have extra characters. For me it’s easier to use than switching layouts.

5·10 months agoI can’t live without the EurKey layout! Even had to get approval to add it to our systems at one megacorp I worked for.

101·10 months agoIt depends how you forward images. I assume they are referring to how many/most services (like whatsapp/discord/telegram etc) don’t just send the original file, but do some compression to save data. Do this a bunch of times and you end up with a photo that starts to show noticeable artifacts/pixellation.
That’s my take at least
We used to do 12-hour, all-night Empire Earth games!
Weirdly, WoW was like a constant, ongoing lan party for us.
We would all lug our rigs over to one guys house and play, even if we were in separate raid groups
It’s definitely still true in Central Europe
Or how people tend to prefer Pepsi in blind tests (I think it’s sweeter or something, if i remember correctly) but overwhelmingly chose CocaCola if given the choice.

Same for me!
