In the case of the USA, there’s more than just the lack of gun restrictions at play. If you were to compare knife deaths per capita in the UK (we all know how much of a problem stabbings are in the UK) and USA, the US is leading by a significant margin (and that’s on top of gun deaths ofc).

For a gun ban to reduce death in the USA you’d first need to addres atleast some of the other systemic problems the country has been neglecting and/or intentionaly expolting.

Is your dumb TV new or old? I’ve been trying to find something to replace my old plasma (it started to make cracking noises, that doesn’t seem like a good sign) for a while now, but it looks like every new TV is ‘smart’.

Not just you, corpo fastfood like mcdonalds, kfc and whatever have been more expensive (and worse quality) than local non-chain street/fastfood for years.

This year a mcdonalds opened in my small-ish town, and I can’t fathom why anybody would buy there. There’s a better restaurant for every single item on the menu, with better quality for cheaper/same price. The only thing it has going for it is the drive thru.

Doesn’t GPS work on Linux phones? As for map apps, OpenStreetMaps based apps are free and more acurate than google (atleast in my region), the only thing that might be lacking is realtime traffic information.

Well there’s a lot of useful things that 100 pounds can get you. Depending on what you consider incredibly useful, and what you do everyday. A quick list of the top of my head:

• good quality first aid kit
• old/new but shit smartphone
• pair of decent working boots
• shit ton of used clothes (atleast where I live, idk about the UK), to wear or as fabric
• set of screwdrivers and bits
• cheap drill, or good used drill
• used laptop
• used oscilloscope
• used all kinds of electronics really; TVs, displays, audio stuff
• thermal water bottle
• Self-defense stuff

I’ve found that most models also rarely use first person pronouns (is ‘we’ first person in english?) and there’s none here (unless that’s the style those articles are writen in, idk I don’t read things like this)

Since you have so many plastic water bottles, I’m gonna ask you, a week ago I didn’t wash my bottle right away after mixing a protein shake in it (I left it for 5 hours) and now it smells foul. And no matter how many times I wash it, the smell won’t go away. Is there something that would help?

A panasonic lumix dmc-fz50 that I got from my mum after she got her new camera. It’s from 2007, so not that old, but still, it’s only three years younger than me. It takes pretty good photos for it’s age, especially macro shots. It’s biggest flaws are the display and view finder. The image in the view finder got yellow and foggy with time, to the point it’s almost unusable. And the display is rather dark so it’s no good in sunny weather.

Some of them also sound pointless, e.g the emoji keyboards. I know for a fact windows, macos and chromeos have inbuild emoji selectors. On linux KDE also has an selector, idk about gnome but even if it doesn’t have one there’s probably a shell exstention for that, there’s also an app called grin (or maybe smile? can’t be bothered to google rn). I literally can’t see a reason to use an web extension over those.

I forgot two places - both as bad as Zakopane - One is the Hel(l) Peninsula, it’s as overcrowded as Zakopane; but it has a single road (one lane each way) that gets jammed very fast, you can be stuck there like 5 hours, even though it’s only 30 Km long. The second one is Krynica Morska, a town located on the Vistula Spit(separating Vistula Lagoon from Gdańsk Bay, in the Baltic Sea) and it has the same problem as Hel - it’s a popular destination with only one road in and out.

Here’s what I would avoid when traveling to Poland:

• Zakopane, it’s overpriced and very crowded. If you want to visit the area the town is in your better off staying in smaller villages, unless you have to use public transit.
• Szczecin --not an ‘avoid at all cost’ but more of a ‘there are better cities to visit’-- this-or-that part of the city is always being remodeled/reconstructed and there’s no ‘old city’ with day and night life focused between two shoping centers and some roundabouts in the city center. If you want to go sight-seeing Kraków, Wrocław or Gdańsk are much better choices.
• Mazury lake district, beautiful lakes and decent nightlife, shit infrastructure - roads are narrow (two bigger cars can’t pass eachother without going offroad) and often lacking sings and other markings
• Podlaskie Voivodship, even worse infrastructure than Mazury, it’s rural, mainly towns and villages with nothing a tourist might want to see. You might think it’s a good place to go star-gazing but Bieszczady are a lot better for that (Tho you should probably go to a Dark Sky Site for that, there’s one close to Bieszczady, in Slovakia)
• THE SEASIDE, it’s crowded, expensive, the sea is cold and it’s fumcking wimdy, go to like Italy, Croatia, Portugal or Spain instead

Also in general avoid capital cities, they are often the worst of major cites in a given country.
