I’m not using socker myself but npm and other services in proxmox containers and VMs. The concept is the same though.
NPM allows you to define a host, which needs to be the subdomain name, allows NPM to know how to handle and serve requests to said domain. In you case this would be the full social.my.domain. Additionally you need to set the local ip /port of the service you’re hosting. You can also use a local host name, which makes it easier to move services to other ips, which probably doesn’t happen often.
Finally HTTPs, SSL, TLS should be configured. This can be tricky if you don’t have specific instructions but should not be neglected!

I think I see a business opportunity here. One could Design covers for each device so that you can identify them easily when they are standing next to each other. I bet these can be placed a lot a similar price as phone shells. If only we could find a solution to the charging problem.
Why not hundreds of screens so you can present all pages of a book at the same time and you just skip through the screen? Would be so much more convenient and innovative!

I use a ryzen 3600x and 5600 or 5700xt with 16gb of ram. Works fine for my day to day work. The Thinkpad runs proxmox.
My idea was to get a new, smaller case to fit my mitx board and psu in and use the old one with a cpu which supports “all” codes, 32gb ram. The old case has enough space for everything I’ll ever need, but the question is, would it be worth the effort. With transcoding ticked off my issue list, my last remaining point is storage and the uncertainty, whether using usb-c connected, direct attached storage (DAS) systems to set up a fileserver is inherently problematic or not.
I don’t understand ZFS and docker would yield a ton of chaos if i used it. Setting up shared network directories in a somewhat polished user interface seems more achievable for me without causing a bottle neck. But I had issues when I rebooted VMs / containers with usb pass throughout which took to long to recover. A dedicated NAS would mitigate that issue but would be more costly.
At the moment, I am looking at a terramaster d5 DAS to give my file server a trial…
Lotr is my benchmark here as well. Your 100mbits are a good indication that something in my config is wrong. I went back reading the docs and found out that I should perhaps use QSV instead of VA-API. Did that and playback is smooth as it should be! Seeking not that much but that’s probably because I just buffer 3 minutes. Thanks a lot!
As proxmox does, to my knowledge, not natively support wifi, I’d rather not try it. Good idea regarding an alternative source. Any idea suggestion how if a) which codes might be supported by my tv b) find / generate a suitable file?
Frankly, my considerations regarding usb-c is not really based on anything meaningful besides chat gpt.
They just hopped onto the bandwagon pushing for copilot and SharePoint. Just in time as some states are switching to open source.

The answer provides a concise overview on the topic. It contains a legal definition and different positions on that matter. It does at not point imply. It’s not the job of AI (or news) to form an opinion, but to provide facts to allow consumers to form their own opinion. The issues isn’t AI in this case. It’s the inability of consumers to form opinions and their expec that others can provide a right or wrong opinion they can assimilation.
I’m not using dual boot anymore, but when I did, I always selected the partition from BIOS, which was totally fine for me. Are there arguments against it?
