10·10 months agoHaving less nukes is not the same as disarmament it’s not even comparable. They dropped two nukes and did that much destruction in Japan, 2, and those were 1940s nukes, even with this change the US would still have thousands of nukes.

Ukraine went to 0 nukes, the US has 5000+ nukes, how would that even be comparable if the US let’s say went down to 1000 nukes. That’s still 1000 nukes more than 0.

Yeah, I think it’s very deceptive in how it markets itself. I think the only reason you see it so much in sites like lemmy and reddit is it went viral during the 2016 US election, where discussions of “fake news” and media bias really took off for the first time and people have just been trusting it ever since.
I’m only pointing out he’s trained as a physical therapist to highlight that he is not trained in a field relevant to this whatsoever, you can be a critical thinker without being a journalist or going to college, but this person just decided they would be the arbiter of what media bias was in the 2016 US election and has just run with it. Most people do not realize this is just some guy’s opinions, if it was named “David Van Zandt’s blog on media bias” people would probably trust it less than naming it “MediaBiasFactCheck” which makes it sound like it’s not just the opinions of one random dude.
Press TV is Iranian state media, I don’t think you should either implictly trust what they are reporting or implictly distrust what they are reporting, you have to look at what is being claimed in an article by article basis and decide whether what they are saying is well sourced and seems accurate. You shouldn’t just “trust the site” for any news source in general, that is the opposite of critical thinking.

You are trusting the opinions of a physical therapist who identifies as a “Non-Affiliated” voter, I’m not saying you have to like PressTV, it is perfectly valid to not trust their reporting if you have reasons not to, but I think you can determine whether you trust it on your own, instead of relying on this “Non-Affiliated” loser to inform your opinions.

15·11 months agoI’m sympathetic to people who were talking directly to a federal agent, except in the case of pedophilia. God forbid they just arrest the person for running an illegal business and not try to entrap them. By doing that they probably contributed to him getting the pardon in the first place.
Amazing that he can simultaneously want to close both borders to prevent drugs coming in and then pardons the architect of the biggest drug selling website of the time. I would prefer the vast majority of people in prison including Ulbricht to be rehabilitated, and not locked up, but that is some real cognitive dissonance.
Maybe Joe Biden is saving doing the public option for his 2nd term in 2028.
You would have to imagine this is a conservative estimate given it is coming from the UN. If they do anything other than conservative* estimates they are accused of bias or whatever.
