They are about 5% friendly which is about the size of the market share. But seriously, I don’t recal them being unfriendly. They ride the Valve Linux hype train quite hard.

Oh it’s you. The reason mainstream adoption among normal users isn’t here yet. Glad to meet you Satan. 🤝
When Blizzard said “Do You Guys Not Have Phones?” the problem was obviously not the quality of the video presented, it was the topic at hand and made perfect sense to have all the dislikes. It makes no sense to take that away from users.

This is basically my take on it. Windows has conditioned me to ignore any and all warnings. It would be super easy for me fall into a trap like that on Linux.
This is basically a hit piece that has been in many ways disproven. Linus and his team are a bunch of apes but that means they are mostly incompetent, not actually malicious.

It’s the meat heads obsessed with the topic. The only reason most vegans would mention their food preference is because food is part of most peoples life’s 3 times a day. But when discovered the questioning is relentless.

At first I thought it’s about control and data gathering, but this seems like too much of a genuine attempt at such a system. Why is the government so obsessed with parenting and nannying the citizens?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anybody else understand they need to make deep connections with people but their social battery has been dead for a while and can't put up with people's BS?
1·5 months agoI know it’s kind of a trend but I think that is the case because so many people identify with it.
I wouldn’t have cared about the label itself it if wouldn’t have come with a vast amount of knowledge and explanations for many aspects of my life. This is why I cared about this and why I talk about it with others, because deep diving into the topic has helped me learn a lot more about myself more than anything else in my life and it explains many of my interactions with others as well as other peoples behaviours.
And to be honest many of the struggles of people on the authism and ADHD spectrum are not really something that can be solved with typical self improvement tactics, it’s something to manage or maybe to medicate, but if you haven’t found out that you fit the label it would be impossible to figure this out.

2·5 months agoThink about your average Joe/Joanne. Are they someone who are willing to go against the status quo? Are they someone always ready to try new things? Are they someone not afraid to express themselves and be an actual individual?
That’s why it’s called normal because it’s the most widespread, but I agree with you, normal is not something I want in my life and that already puts me on a spectrum somewhere.

First, it isn’t a roomba, second it says in the article how much it cost, third some people have hobbies and sometimes those hobbies are tinkering, dismantling and hacking things they supposedly own and that sometimes leads to revelations like this. Hope that helps.
