They are actively against SEL which is the stupidest thing I can imagine. The only thing I could imagine worse is feeding your kids lead paint chips.

5·4 months agoI think FreeCAD has potential. It’s not there yet. I’m trying to learn it but I’m getting a lot of grey in my beard and have been using Solidworks at work so long any new friction is frustrating.
For PDM/PLM. I’ve been looking at this recently. It also is not ready.

Its more work to setup but I am of the opinion parts should have drawings to show critical dimensions. Drawings should have rev blocks describing differences.
There are issues to this approach, but it solves a lot of problems.

2·7 months agoyeah, the back end is the scarier part. I don’t think conservapedia actually added that much content, it just copied Wikipedia and edited the parts they cared about. Automating that, while helpful, isn’t that big a deal IMO. Disseminating the resultant bullshit (with a hint of plausibility) is where the nightmares begin.

4·7 months agoHe is a moron to be sure, but crashes like this make opportunities for those with means to gobble up the big stuff cheap. Sure ground beef is expensive as fuck right now but I bet the wagu steak hasn’t changed nearly as much. Hell when the economy is going well the rabble want a taste of the good stuff. Better to keep them in their place.

Seriously this ticks boxes Ive given up on. I never thought Id see a phone with all three: waterproof, removable battery, headphone jack. It even has wireless charging which isnt really one of my boxes but is a little extra if you use it.

Listen, Im over here wearing my floaties, watching sales people doing a triple gainer off the high-dive. I’m not trying to pretend to be especially good with the social skills. All I’m saying is water is wet. Some people have an affinity to those sorts of skills, some don’t. Some people work at it. Some can’t. Everyone has to at least bathe though. That’s a metaphor, but also not.
Why do you need to be forced by society to develop social skills?
Social skills is another way of saying the abilities required to function in a society. You might as well ask why do you need to learn to swim to get in the pool.
Why isn’t putting your best forward enough?
Often it is, but to stretch the metaphor used above, they are going to be stuck in the shallow end.

I listen to mostly death metal and my wife is into musicals. Its really not an issue. I have gone with her to Book of Mormon (a musical), she has gone with me to metal shows… actually she used to get me back stage to several (she worked catering). Neither of us is going to choose to play the others music when we are by ourselves, but we can find a little common ground regardless.
