You mean management, right?

You mean management, right?

Isn’t the question “can it be made”, not “can it politically be made available”?

You’re not alone. I think it’s gorgeous and I’d have a Canoo if they were in Europe.
Everyones own milage may vary, I’m not going to argue every comment. Good they can use Linux though - my parents never wanted to know anything but be pure users, so I did the same for them and in out case Mac was easier.
I just don’t see the point of slighting any OS when it’s used as an appliance, which - for the most part with family, is its role.

And Linux is?
I want you to tell grandma how to update her video driver. Over the phone.

That’s some serious spin there in the title.

Nope - US manufacturers are NOT pulling the same shit. Kia/Hyundai are the only brand in the US without immobilizers because they thought they could skimp there instead of a posher interior or more electro-gadgets. Only in the US because the law at that time didn’t require it, but other brands who also sell worldwide (where it is absolutely required) didn’t consider this an option. Kia/Hyundai clearly did. It was a stupid, stupid call and it should impact their reputation. If they skimp on something as elemental as security, where else have they skimped…?

Location is irrelevant … That was choice by Hyundai/Kia, to cheap out and remove the immobilizers.

Do you mean the Toyota with the airbag issues in the 90s, or their EV last year where the wheels would FALL OFF while driving? Toyota is a shell of what made it great, and the whole greenwashing of their hybrids (eg, their self-charging EVs bullshit) should make you think of other choices.

You forgot one:
Guy goes to his Lada dealer and says “I want a gas cap for my Lada”. Dealer replies “…that seems like a fair trade.”

is the developer the most used browser (chrome) and its open source skeleton (chromium) on which most of all of the other browsers are based on (edge, brave etc)
Which was branched from Apple’s open Webkit base, but let’s all also forget about that.
They take the IP of others, spin it a bit and then block everyone. Burn them down.

Why is it “or”…? It’s as if the Verge has lost the ability to write a non-clickbait title.
And the answer is “both have” of course. The folks who make the game are as guilty as those who played it.

Or don’t give up. Go all in.

Filling up gas takes ~5 min, recharging an EV takes 20-30…
Unless you have it plugged in at home or work, then every time you get into the car it’s got full range. If you’re saying you want to drive 400+ miles without a break, then I wonder about how safely you drive. Certainly you’re not suggesting driving MORE than 400 miles, tank after tank, without a break…that’s just silly and dangerous. My range estimates of 2.5-3 hours is about how long I can drive safely without needing a break, not the machine. Otherwise it’s just comparing useless numbers (but that’s how we were programmed for decades to buy cars anyway, right?) But also you’re ignoring any environmental impact of driving on gas and comparing new EVs with a $10k used Prius. So what are we even talking about?
VW really seemed to want to clean house with that. I’ve an ID.3 1st and honestly it’s possibly the best car I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had VWs, BMW, Alfa, Ford, International Harvester (I’m old) and that EV is really great for the money.
