Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why aren't more people re-examining past conspiracies as trust in mainstream media declines over Gaza coverage?
7·16 days agoThanks I had never questioned that fact myself until I saw your post. I also did some googling and found the same thing on multiple articles and not only find it fascinating but also breain dead obvious.

2·17 days ago- You are allowing a large faceless coorporation that has ties to both government and big tech to setup a back door to your network.
- Your data is encrypted to the outside world, but all your packets are unencrypted to cloudflare so they can check them safely, and can be easily analyzed by cloudflare before encrypting them to the outside world.
- Its free so you are the product.
- They protect scammers.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you think Trump will fall because of the new Epstein emails?
2·22 days agoFrom what I’ve heard from folks outside the US, we’re way past the point of not being the shinning city on the hill. The only thing I see is that if and when the emails come out to public, the US will be so marginalized by the rest of the world that doing business with them will almost be the equivalent as doing business with North Korea (not counting trade embargos), that people will not really care as much anymore. And even if you where in the US you’d be more interested in just surviving the day than caring about the already known pedo in chief running the whitehouse will all his clouns and billionaires. The only thing that could give me joy is that if thefiles come out, the rest of the world powers could make trade embargos with the US and any billionaire that has financial or political ties with the US (specially including tech companies) so those billionaires would either jump ship and line up with the tax laws of the rest of the world or sink with the rest of the us economy.

24·2 months agoNot true, zwave and ZigBee are not required to use the manufacturers apps and you can setup a home assistant server on a raspberry pi in about 20 minutes and never worry about planned obsolescence like this. This is why I never buy WiFi only smart devices that need internet access and an account on an app to control.

2·2 months agoThanks, that’s actually what I’ve been using but I guess something got messed up locally after I copied the data over. Maybe I’ll pass Picard directly over the server side data or try copying the music again because the metadata looks fine locally which was the cause of my confusion.

11·2 months agoOk buddy, go bother other kids now. I obviously know what a VPN is. But you don’t like Jellyfin so keep using whatever you are using and I’ll keep using whatever I’m using.

11·2 months agoHow about… Neither.
I don’t think OP doesn’t know, but I feel like its been said multiple times here, so maybe op either missed it or has a use case where he still wants to use Plex.
I have a Jellyfin server and I don’t need to expose it to the internet. Look at all the posts and comments here about setting up a reverse proxy and to securely expose your server to the internet. But you can also just keep your server locked behind your firewall and only access your network using a self hosted VPN.
