3·4 months agoneither of us EVER drank from a garden hose, it just tastes fucking disgusting.
100 percent!
Dumb kids of all generations drink from the garden hose.
The smart ones go inside and get it from the kitchen (or disconnect the hose and drink directly from the tap which tastes perfectly fine)

2·4 months agoShush.
First rule about Gen X, we don’t remember about Gen X.
Speaking as a Canadian, I don’t want New England, New York, Washington and Oregon.
The eastern states are slightly less crazy, but there are a shit ton of crazy Christian gun fucking kooks in the Western states. No thank you.
We would have to do some de-arming and reeducation before taking those on.

2·4 months agoA little dirt mixed into a clear paint. To a cop, it just looks like a dirty licence plate. To AI powered cameras it looks like T̶̗̈ℲM-ԀC̴̦͝)0

Technology@lemmy.world•You can still enable uBlock Origin in Chrome, here is howEnglish
7·6 months agoMy first web browser was Mosaic version 1. I ran version 2 alpha for a bit.
Netscape started doing things better so I moved over to it.
Over the years I’ve bounced around from Netscape, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and a few others (the MS browsers never really swayed me). It seemed like every year I’d be moving to a new platform or version. I usually have 3-4 browsers installed on my computers at any given time.
Once Chrome blocked uOrigin I moved over to Firefox. Easy.
The point is, to get the best (and safest) browsing experience, you have to be flexible. If you just use the thing that “came with the computer” you’re going to have a bad time. If Chrome wants to break your browsing experience, ditch it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Exclusive: Evidence of cell phone surveillance detected at anti-ICE protestEnglish
4·6 months agoI think you can just assume at this point the US government does not care about the constitution or it’s people and will use any means necessary to collect data on those who wish to counter its growing authoritarian nature.
If you go to a protest, only take a burner phone or no phone at all. If you must take your phone, turn it off and Faraday cage it.
The US has become a failed state. Leave if you can. Things will only get worse before it completely implodes.

5·6 months agoMy gaming computer is in an old 4 unit rack mount server case. I think there is some sort of RGB nonsense on the motherboard, but you can’t see it once the computer is racked.
Fuck RGB shit.

He’s a fucking JEWISH Nazi - which is the worst kind of self loathing Nazi.
He’d be the first in the showers when the real Nazis come to town.
He’s a pathetic loser.

31·6 months agoNot true for me in PEI. We are actively NOT buying US products. It really hasn’t been a problem at all for us at this point.
The only fresh produce we’ve had a problem getting is sweet onions and lettuce (sometimes). We can get red and white onions from mexico and other locations, just the sweet ones come from the states. I’m sure this will change over the growing season.
We’re setting up a rig to grow our own lettuce and a few other things year round.
