Same here, the Plex app was super heavy on a lot of my devices and would slow them to a crawl. Jellyfin is lean and runs well even on my slow smart projector. It does everything I need it to and more. I also got sick of Plex trying to shove their content and rentals and streaming services down my throat. Couldn’t be happier with Jellyfin.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some examples of 'common sense' which are nonsense?
8·11 months agoYup, vaccination isn’t reinforcements, it’s training. It’s having the other team’s playbook before they even step foot on the field.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some examples of 'common sense' which are nonsense?
12·11 months agoIn all of my ecology classes they were super specific about re-framing that concept as “survival of the fit enough”
You don’t actually have to be the best example of something to have your traits carried along, just good enough to consistently make it to reproductive age and then procreate.
It helps explain a lot of weird survival mechanisms - it doesn’t have to be the best way to do things but if it consistently works, then it’s good enough. Like the old saying “if it’s stupid, but it works, then it’s not stupid”

5·1 year agoAs a French press/Mint guy, I guess I have to agree.
No one ever mentions this movie but my favorite movie is The Fountain, with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz.
It’s basically a love story set in three timelines, with absolutely amazing music, dark storytelling, and an unbelievably satisfying ending. A lot of it is left up to interpretation but it’s not overly complicated. Cemented me as a huge fan of Aronofsky even if he’s not always a pop culture favorite.

It did not understand the assignment, but it did give me a few reasonable examples of the original prompt.
This just happened to me, once you make the bootable USB, open it up, go into EFI/boot, and copy grubx64.efi, then rename it to mmx64.efi
Everything should work from there.

2·2 years agoMade me really sad when I learned Sweet Earth is Nestlé because they have a really good Seitan (wheat gluten) Bacon that is super tasty and difficult to replicate. But I like not supporting scum more than I like vegan bacon substitutes so 🤷

World News@lemmy.ml•Revealed: WHO aspartame safety panel linked to alleged Coca-Cola front group
1015·2 years agoThat’s not what this is saying. This is saying the studies saying it IS harmful were real, and the part saying “it’s probably safe in small amounts” was industry-influenced.

World News@lemmy.ml•Revealed: WHO aspartame safety panel linked to alleged Coca-Cola front group
134·2 years agoThank you being basically the only person in the thread who actually read the article.
The part where they said “aspartame is probably bad” wasn’t the corrupt part. The corrupt part was when they put an addendum saying “a little bit of cancer is okay as a treat”

They are different enough in intention though.
I intend - I plan to try, but I might not.
I will - I am definitely going to, but maybe not very often or for limited uses
I will frequently - I am definitely going to, and it will be a common/important part of my work/life-flow
