Maybe this gives me a false sense of security but I bought the adguard pro on social stack (I think…). I just turn all of the connections off on gemini, meta and Bixby. Like this

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I used plex for free for the better part of a decade. Bought lifetime when a raise was coming and it was still $140 (kicking myself because at one point with a sale I was looking at something like $45).
I’ve used plex pass enough, and it’s my main driver for all our entertainment outside of music and audiobooks that if they asked for some more money, I wouldn’t care so much.
The ease of use, the UI, and remote access without having to jump through a bunch of hoops is worth it.
No shade to Jellyfin, but it’s not nearly as dumb dumb friendly.

On this line of thinking, are there any once a day mindfulness prompts? All I can seem to find are journaling apps, etc.
I just want a prompt at 6am to make me think about something positive to start my day
The ceo is kinda racist… Apparently…

I try to use Foss but only when it’s a lateral move. I tried Linux mint. It came close but there were so many little things that just didn’t make sense to me as someone who used windows for the last 25 years. Do I want to use Windows 11? No, especially with everything they’ve been doing to it. But in terms of usability, the sacrifices that I make by using Windows 11 outweigh the extra work, frustration, and time spent trying to figure out Linux (tried 3 different distros too).
I have 3 little kids, a full time job and aging parents. I don’t have hours every day to try and make stuff work.

Here’s the thing though, for the average plex user (myself included) you’ve already used too many acronyms and words I don’t understand. Plex serves a purpose for a lot of people, people who are even willing to pay for it to be easy.
Kind of reminds me of Netflix before anyone else did streaming. They had so much stuff I stopped sailing.
Not murder, but I’ll be damned if as a teacher and parent kids aren’t wackier during the full moon.
Also, sugar doesn’t cause hyperactivity. Who ever doesn’t think that can teach for me on Halloween

Sounds like the words of a boring teacher who’s incapable of meaningful self-reflection as to what they could maybe improve upon

Mr. D (think Michael Scott but a teacher)
Shrinking (low stakes like Ted Lasso)
Taskmaster UK (if you like comedy panel type shows. Although it’s not really a panel in the traditional sense)

So many things factor into this…
Our house became significantly (like 97%) less dusty when our dog passed.
The age of your house
The type of furnace filter
Routine
We have 3 small kids, so we try to tidy up physical stuff (toys, clothes, bags, etc) every day. Dishes too.
Once a week is wiping down nin-kitchen surfaces
Once a month is wiping down baseboards and door trim

Seconded. I didn’t know the life cycle of a router but I replaced my asus router with another asus router recently. Not because it stopped working but because we have so many devices for our iot and I wanted some vlan. The old one is being repurposed at someone else’s house

Step 1: butter the toast or English muffin Step 2: apply peanut butter Step 3: bliss. Stop yourself from eating the whole loaf

This might be my ignorance, but the Ubiquiti stuff I’m finding seems to be all commercial. I ended up getting a good price on the Flint 2 and it should be here next Friday. I’m hoping to chunk out some time setting it up on the 20th

Thank you for your detailed responses. Has adguard any track record of collecting data? Is there a way to know?

I’ll check it out - thanks!

I’ll check out mikrotik - thanks!
I don’t really understand the rest of what you said haha

Thank you for the reply - you’ve offered a great opportunity to ask another question 😂
I was looking at adguard. Is this something worth the subscription? I was looking at it because it seems to handle a lot of ads, including those on mobile games and stuff. But in my cursory glance, people are saying it’s not safe…
I’ll look at the GL-iNet because a) I want a powerhouse and b) I want nothing to do with flashing firmware haha

I need to replace my router as it’s coming to end of life. I want one with vlan so I can put all my iot on a separate lan. Any recommendations?
I assume it’s better to leave it and have it not work, then them sneak it on without me knowing or baking it into something else
