Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•The Opt-In Proactive & Crash Time Data Collection On Valve's Steam DeckEnglish
3·2 days agoYour welcome. Just reread my comment and it looks like I’m yelling at you… Not my intention. Thought it would be easier to find if I wrote it like it is displayed in the settings.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What's your favorite font for reading ebooks?English
31·5 days agoAs i understand it we dyslexic people read more in blocks of words among other issues with order of letters and or sounds. Easily two words can become confused with each other if the look enough alike. Take defiantly and definitely, two words I often mistake for one another and often have trouble spelling individually. The dyslexic font has more spacing between letters which helps a ton.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What's your favorite font for reading ebooks?English
351·6 days agoOpenDyslexic. I used to hate reading. Read one and a half books this year. Also 3 novella’s. For fun! I never read for fun. Usually just programming books to get my feet wet before jumping into documentation. Never an entire book cover to cover unless Im obsessed enough.
I was sceptical but it really does help.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•The Lossless Scaling Plugin Is Officially On The Decky StoreEnglish
10·19 days agoMake sure you follow the install instructions. You have to download the Decky-lsfg-vk.zip file and install it using decky developer options. Also have to have Lossless Scaling from steam installed. I could not get Lossless Scaling to run at all no matter what version of proton I tried. So i disabled proton compatibility altogether for Lossless Scaling. I think it just needs to be there.
I had other steam Launch Options and I couldnt get get it to work until I put the
~/lsfgright before %command%.I also uninstalled Decky LSFG-VK with the very bottom button and reinstalled and both
Lossless Scaling Installedandlsfg-vk installedturned green with a checkmark.I also disabled every toggle and set the plugin to 2X.
Then it worked. So far the only toggle I have enabled is Performance Mode and Flow Scale is at 80%.
Hope that helps.

7·19 days agoJust tried it out and am getting 80fps in cp2077 using the 2X option. Now if I could figure out a fix for the audio cracking.
Edit: I think I just figured out the audio crackling. I remember having to do it with Bethesda games.
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Does it ever bother some of you that "I'm switching to Linux!" is just more of a way to appear rebellious than actually committing to the choice?English

Technology@lemmy.world•In wake of Windows 10 retirement, over 780,000 Windows users skip Win 11 for Linux, says Zorin OS developers — distro hits unprecedented 1 million downloads in five weeksEnglish
12·23 days agoKde is working really well on linux-surface. Had to change the OSK to maliit(?) but everything I need works. I haven’t tried to install the camera driver because I never needed it. Stylus works really well ootb. Use it with Krita. Screen rotation works great and I use it as an e-reader. I choose an easy arch distro because disk encryption works with the native keyboard although it has been some time since i tried a non rolling distro and other distros could have addressed the startup keyboard issues by now. 10/10 would recommend.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Probably a dumb question, but: do I need to do anything to my media drive when swapping from Windows?English
19·29 days agoThere are no stupid questions.
Linux has been able to read any drive I have ever tried. NTFS is readable and writeable. I would bet almost all distros support ntfs. if they dont you can install ntfs-3g.
Edit: i dont usually use ntfs so I went and had a quick search, to make sure I wasnt wrong and remembering the right driver name. I also didnt think about drive health checks that they lightly cover in the link.

I see your thinking now. I thought you might not remember that multiplication, division comes before addition, subtraction and were just doing right to left operations.
Didn’t really understand how the imaginary parenthesis came in.
