5·1 year agoThat literally tells the story of a people’s losing their livelihood due to capitalist usage of technology, and targeting the technology instead of the systemic issue.

All the misplaced rage and wasted effort.

22·1 year agoGood thing about this is it’s self selecting, all the luddites who refuse to use AI will find themselves at a disadvantage just the same as refusing to use a computer isn’t doing anyone any favours.

And OpenAI has made their shit freely available to run locally, it’s like the worst company to use as an example.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Anyone having issues with Lemmy self hosting?English
2·2 years agoSimilar for my instance.
You’re showing up on my personal instance as well, so I’d say you’re all good on the Lemmy syncing.
Not sure why you’re not syncing on Mastodon, it might just be a time thing? Maybe check back in a day or so?

39·2 years agoMozilla makes hundreds of millions from Google. Every single person could stop donating and they would continue along just fine (Well the CEO might need to take a 10 million yearly pay cut).
What weird is seeing people champion the enshittificstion of FOSS software.

Technology@beehaw.org•Google will no longer back up the Internet: Cached webpages are deadEnglish
6·2 years agoNo, I want to automatically cache pages I’ve searched for and visited and have them show up on my searx.
We’re talking like maybe 10 pages a week if that.
I know there’s ArchiveBox, but I’m after something less manual and more integrated.

3·2 years agoIs there any sort of way to self host a limited version of this? L
I’d love to be able to have my own Searx also cache everything I visit as I go to it, it’d at least let me refind information I’ve previously found.

1·2 years agoI’ve been getting the same.
Some times it’s fine, other times it can take like 8 hours to “update”.
Someone told me a while ago to restart it every few days, it seems to help a bit.

2·2 years agoThat’s crazy, I’ve never seen anyone use them here in Australia.
I think because every business has its own little proprietary windows app they need to use for this or that.
