From what I remember it’s backwards compatible on lower levels but can you easily run a Windows 7 app on Windows 10? Windows 11 was a smaller change but then they force you to upgrade hardware which is the opposite of compatibility.

People are used to their workflows and windows makes it a big deal to update from one version to another. Especially if you’ve made particular setups or used hacks they’re pretty much guaranteed to stop working. Linux doesn’t usually do this but I’m getting the same issue with android where every update breaks something and it’s worse because here there is no option to not upgrade.

My old phone had a setting for this but it seems it’s part of OneUI so Samsung only :/ It’s called Interaction Control in Accessibility Settings.
Oh and it fixes the titles too, very nice
You can change the audio track but you have to do it on every video. What’s more annoying is it can’t even decide on a language. I’ve had both Spanish videos auto dubbed to English and English videos auto dubbed to Spanish.
I think the windows emoji picker has ascii emojis but yeah it’s missing from the others. If it’s only a couple you can add them to a shortcut or pin them on your clipboard.

I never trade in. Every old phone I’ve had has seen more use than the value of trading it. Most go to a relative then back to me for some secondary use. Plus it’s good to have a backup device in case something happens to your main phone.

Wish it worked like that with the lights. I don’t like artificial light so only have some back lights on or none at all most of the time. And will sleep until 1pm with two big windows without blinds in my room.

Not really to the point where my handwriting is shit because I haven’t written anything substantial for the past 5(?) years. But paper is still the best for drawing schemas/associations. And normal drawings of course, I carry a small notebook for that.

Seems like the natural progression of things

You know, if copilot also joins morning meetings for you while you sleep, that’s a deal I’m willing to make

Teams dying doesn’t sound too bad either. Just hoping the next iteration isn’t even worse

My spotify stats every year disagree

Something felt wrong about this comment but it took a while to figure out what. It’s in English. I guess you meant you only communicate orally in German but it kinda confirms the original post.
That’s not as bad I guess. I’m not in the US and I remember once watching an entire episode of House of Cards on my phone during the commercial breaks of a movie on TV.
I watched some TV with family during Christmas. I had forgotten just how much of a time drain commercials are. Sure it’s more generic and some can be fun but it’s not worth it to lose an extra half hour for a one hour show. And I don’t think the times have changed, it was the same when I was a kid.

Um are we sure we want this data? Weren’t there some people who walked into traffic and fell down hills playing Pokémon Go?

I set one up recently and it also asked for a phone number. Maybe there is a way to bypass that step but I couldn’t find it
A good rule of thumb is to set each machine/website to its original language (English in most cases). Because when you set your devices to english then sites and apps will also try to change to english and that usually sucks for government websites for example.
