Yes, the inverted cursor themes are installed in every Windows, they are not enabled by default, you have to go to options and enable them, which is a part of customizing your installation to your needs.

This is definitively not a default Windows mouse pointer and neither will be in any other environment, you have to customize it.

I just can’t recommend Aurora, Bluefin and Bazzite enough. Go read Bazzite’s docs. If you had ever used MacOS as a developer and wanted to use Linux tooling, the way you are supposed to work with atomic distros will be suddenly clear to you.

I professionally maintain Linux kernel and custom drivers for embedded applications. I fell in love with Aurora on my first run and chosen Bazzite for my brand new Nvidia gaming PC. This will also be my office/web browsing/dev machine when not gaming.

Why? I am tired of managing / sysadmining Linux OS and don’t want to bring the job to my free time (although it looks like my MoBo could use a kernel patch for supporting fan speeds controller hee hee). Bazzite and siblings are the first distros I stumbled upon that flawlessly supported GSync and nvidia graphics out of the box without changing a single option. The defaults are sane, customization is easy. The whole general idea around how these distros are redesigned solve many many pain points that many uses are yet to experience with standard / “legacy” ones. I am more hyped about them than I was when I first discovered NixOS.

Atomic distros like this IMHO should be the default choice now for new Linux gamers. Period.

It already started happening before LLM AI. Have you heard the joke that we were teaching our parents how to use printers and PCs with mouse and keyboard and now we have to do the same with our children? It’s really not a joke. We are the last generation that have seen it all evolving before our eyes, we know the fundamentals of each layer of abstraction the current technology is built upon. It was natural process for us to learn all of this and now suddenly we expect “fresh people” to grasp 50 years or so of progress in 5 or so years?

Interesting times ahead of us.
