Where do you get ads from on plex!?

Meh, I went into plex settings on the server and just turned off all the bloat. Its all on one page. Not a big deal.

Because its more polished, has more platforms for clients to run on, and can be remotely shared with a simple account login and no configuration required. To name a few.

Lies. Local streaming never required a plex pass. Its for remote streaming only, but keep pushing that false narrative.

And you can go to plex settings and disable all the love channels, discover, friend activity, etc that everyone complains about. Make it a simple plex server again.

But then how will you know how much they love the smell of their own farts?

*only for external streaming.
You can cut it off from the internet and stream in your house locally for free still.
End from any external streaming perspective, they are hosting a repository with your connection and port info, so your external friends can connect without you needing to manually configure or update their settings when you make a local change. Plus they are hosting stream relays for those that are unable to make a direct connection. To me, seems fair they’d ask for payment for that service.

Only if he works 120 hours per week and takes a 99% pay cut.

I went with cachy a few weeks ago, and its been great.

I recently bought a tpm 2.0 chip for a 7th Gen intel and found out that win 11 will install on 7th Gen without any hacks when done fresh from a usb install, and it only checks for tye existence of tpm 2.0. The cpu Gen block is 100% a choice MS made it seems, likely because not all 7th Gen capable motherboards had tpm or expansion slots so they just went “screw them, all 7th Gen and lower is blocked”.

Why did you switch if you already have a lifetime plex pass? With that, it costs nothing for anyone else to stream from your server.
I use CachyOS BeeTeeDubs…

Is that last one Charlie form All Dogs Go To Heaven?

So far, CachyOS has been great for me. KDE Plasma pimped out looks great also.
How is it for gaming? Im hesitant to switch just for that one use case, but its a big one.

I suspect this is designed to block revanced entirely. It won’t be able to install the apk it compiles or downloads, so apps won’t be able to update even if you have it installed via adb to begin with.

And all those things were “taken” because they followed apple’s lead who took all those things first. Losing sideload capability is yet another fallow the leader act they’re doing to be like apple.
As for more expensive, disagree there. That’s only the case if you go with high end sansung phones, but you can get android phones for much cheaper with still decent hardware, and it (currently) can do all the things apple does. You cant buy a cheaper apple 17 then the 2 models they give you. Also the hardware differences are so minor between Samsung and Apple, its laughable to call one “better” so your ppst really comes off like a fanboy talking about something you dont understand.

Vance was recently on tv saying carr isn’t responsible because “look, Jimmy is still on tv, so what’d Carr do wrong?”, trying to sweep it under the rug.
Sure, but you also don’t have the option to use those features because they don’t exist in jellyfin.
In my plex instance, I have discover enabled, and enabled all the streaming services so that discover is populated with all the movies and shows available. Then I have an automation setup so I can search in discover for a movie, and add it to my watchlist, and my automation will automatically download that movie and add it to my library.
I can do it right from my couch, and its WAF approved. Using those bloat features against them, in a way.
But, its just as easy to turn those all off if one doesn’t want to utilize them. I’d be annoyed if they forced them on permanently but that’s not what plex does, but they sure get a lot of hate for just having those features.
