Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to learn Dutch? Does anyone have any good sources to recommend?
4·5 months agoFor spoken language learning, nothing beats the Pimsleur method. Easily found by those, who sail the high seas
A propos of nothing, I think this is one of the funniest images ever made. The pure horror of the small child, the utter confident terror of the elder, the random shingles, the unexpected wooden bucket, the crazy cute rabbit staring at the unexpected wooden bucket - just pure genius

101·1 year agoThis is genuinely a beautifully written comment. I’d expect an author with mathematical or physical background to have written it, like Asimov or Pynchon. Bravo!
So, I hate to be the breaker of bad news, but the UK has left the EU 🤷 Don’t shoot the messenger

I’ve been meaning to get his latest work which he predictably didn’t finish. Have you read it?

Linux@lemmy.ml•“Something has gone seriously wrong,” dual-boot systems warn after Microsoft update
2·2 years agoThe watermark is only applied if something is printed directly from Fade In: export and print somewhere else and there should be no watermark. As for the formatting, I don’t recall - but I do know, that everything is configurable; so you can make the formatting the same, if it differs

Linux@lemmy.ml•“Something has gone seriously wrong,” dual-boot systems warn after Microsoft update
2·2 years agoMy pleasure. I will mention, that unless the author changed the program since last I used it, it also has a small popup every ten minutes or so, asking if you’d like to buy it. Remarkably, I didn’t find this terribly annoying, and forgot all about it until writing this comment - so don’t let that be a hindrance!

Linux@lemmy.ml•“Something has gone seriously wrong,” dual-boot systems warn after Microsoft update
3·2 years agoIt’s free tho? Except for some minor limitations:
“The free downloadable demonstration version of Fade In includes all key functionality except for online realtime collaboration, and will place a watermark on any printed/PDF output.”
And there are ways around those

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favorite movie? Or, what is your favorite genre of film?
2·2 years agoAll right, I’ll have a go. My favourite film (tho not the one I’ve seen the most number of times (that’s lotr)) is supposedly le fantôme de la liberté, 1974, Luis Buñuel. As for my favourite genre, I doubt I have one - there’re too many excellent films in too many genres!

O noes!
