If this gets confirmed and Trump indeed folds, this will be seen as one of those seminal events that confirm, beyond all the propaganda, a fundamental rebalancing of power between China and the US, and an end to the era of US economic dominance.
The impact on China’s side was much less pronounced: the CSI 300 Index is virtually unchanged, and so is the cost of China’s debt, standing at 1.67% for their 10Y bonds vs 4.4% for US 10Y bonds.
Due to the tariffs, the IMF just predicted a reduction of only 0.5% in China’s GDP growth (down to 4%) vs a loss of 0.9% for the US’s GDP (down to 1.8%), meaning that China would keep growing at more than twice the rate of the U.S. despite the tariffs, and would be much less affected by them than the U.S.
The US possibly no longer being able push other countries’ economic policies around is a much bigger deal than people realize

Inventing a “problem” then “solving” it. Looks like they’re learning from trump

It seems to prefer new users’ posts rather than already popular users interestingly enough, at least more so than other platforms
There’s a bunch of Chinese posts asking if the stuff about school shootings, fires, homelessness are exaggerated propaganda only to be told otherwise. It’s both hilarious and sad.

Basically every mainstream social media apps do want your contacts these days, yes. Obviously bad for OPSEC so you should avoid them if you’re worried about that even after blocking those permissions.

If only there was a no button…

They’re equally racist. Dems are probably trying to damage control and convince people not to join Rednote and stay on Tiktok until it’s banned

Yeah seems like Rednote is specifically centered around lifestyle and art while Weibo and Baidu are for general use

That’s the point? It’s people signalling they’re not dumb enough to believe the US’s “national security” shit and would trust China’s products over american ones like Meta or Xitter

Should use HelloChinese instead tbh. Duolingo is more like a game than a language learning app.

I doubt Russia will actually use nukes, what with MAD and all.
Then again, people said the same thing about the invasion. Russia doesn’t have a no-first-use nuclear weapons policy like the USSR did, so they could use them if they deem the country to be under existential threat.

Imagine supporting IPs lmfao
It’s to draw more parallels with the CCCP and get a bit more mileage from some of their anti-USSR propaganda

This. If you actually want positive change, go out and join a socialist org to take direct action. In capitalist states — specially imperial core ones — elections are just an ad campaign that won’t bring any positive change for workers on its own.
Elections will, however, gradually shift to the far-right as long as liberals/capitalists are in power (see: overton window).

Typical liberal rejecting any shift to the left in favour of fascists.
It’s great that the LFI managed to come this far even within a liberal framework, but real change has only ever come from organizing and applying pressure from outside the capitalist system to overthrow it. This should be a signal to french comrades to start organizing for that.
Watching the video would help. Basically, it’s a barely-held-together coalition that won’t last for very long. Meanwhile the far-right has massively risen in popularity over the last few years.
LW still not banning that comm is disgusting
