He didn’t plan on spending 44B. The plan was to manipulatie stock price with pretending to buy, but Twitter management saw that one coming and let him sign a document for 44B that the rich idiot didn’t read.
So when the “I changed my mind” phase of his master plan started, Twitter pulled out the document and forced him to cough up the 44B. So yeah, now he pretends it was the plan all along.
Except with cloning the other twin would be a different age as with current tech the clone is back to being a baby. You’d need rapid growth tech and mind transfer tech to at least make the clone have the same age, memories and personality, although that would most likely introduce other differences.

“but the climate is always changing”
Too bad we built a civilization on the assumption it wouldn’t

More likely there will simply be no peace and they’ll technically stay at war, with a huge minefield in between the two countries, until one of them runs out of money.

There were enough American companies having an office in Ireland to avoid taxes. And soon also to avoid red state litigation.

I’m curious how that’s going to work in international context. Everything to do with the queer community suddenly has a link to .ca or .mx domain and server park outside the country where this doesn’t apply for example. Or reddit suddenly checks with the authorities in Zimbabwe if the ID is valid.

And then everybody slaps a “Only for 18+, fill in your birth day” on their site and nobody can legally claim it’s harming children.

We have curse stacking so it forms one big word. Godverdommemiljaardenondju. It’s an ugly mix of dialect, French and Dutch, meaning something like “curse you a billion times in the name of God”. And if it’s only a mild inconvenience we only use a small part, like “dju” or “miljaar.”

“Your work was perfect and thanks to your continued efforts going above and beyond we achieved record profits. Unfortunately the budget doesn’t allow any raise this year.”
The most likely answer to get in 2 years.

There was a time where more companies held on to people and you could start and retire in the same company. That’s now decades ago. That era ended with the oil crisis and never came back, despite bosses pretending it’s still there.
Oh, how they hate the new generations doing exactly the same as they do, and only being interested in what’s in it for them in the short term and not trusting any promises.

This is the same in more places and more jobs: Schools, hospitals, nursing homes, …
Workers: we need more budget to attract new people. We’re already stretched too thin as it is
Boss: I’m cutting the budget to save on costs. If you don’t like it then quit.
Workers: That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Here’s my notice. I quit.
Boss: You can’t do that! Now I’m in trouble!

Celebrities apparently.

There is no karma system so no people shitposting and reposting as much to pump up their score. Without this kind of gamification there is less noise.

It’s a classic cycle. Because some have gay leanings they see everything homosexual as a sinful temptation and assume it’s the same for everyone else. The people must be protected against that perceived temptation so it must be forbidden. Meanwhile they fight against their own nature and succumb sometimes, which makes them repeat the cycle.
Like if you’re writing an essay on paper. You have your desk covered with a reference book or two, your draft version, working version, assignment, additional clarifications and notes, … It would be such a hassle to put it all in one neat stack and search for whatever you need every time.
So programmers like to have the programming manual, design, notes, remarks from the customer, … spread out over the screen(s) instead of switching back and forth every time.

It’s actually curdled milk. It uses an enzyme extracted from the stomach of a calf or a modern replacement.
Now buttermilk is more like rotten milk.

Yeah, they’re just sad it didn’t work as expected and it makes them look bad.
"“engineering details” is usually code for “very expensive”.
