Why are people obsessed with using the dog to get money or women or whatever? It’s a talking fucking dog!! That’s a cool ass pet I wanna chill with my cool talking dog.
Is this a reference to something I don’t get? Because I dunno how talking dog is some monkeys paw cursed blessing just because it speaks Cantonese. I don’t speak Cantonese, but, like 80 million other people do. So I could learn.
Talking dog, it’s so obviously talking dog

61·12 days agoHave you tried opening it up? Replacing the controller elements is pretty easy. The board is well laid out and everything is clearly labeled. Even replacing the thumbsticks is a piece of cake.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is the best way to eat spinach?
12·23 days agoThis is really the right answer. Saag and Palak are the way forward, mix in mustard greens or collards too.
I also wilt it in a wok with garlic and use it as the core component of dumpling or bun filling, combined with tofu, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, onions or whatever else you want.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How Do You Feel About Professional Sports in 2025?
5·27 days agoI’ve tried to get into watching sports a number of times before. I do enjoy the athleticism and strategy needed to play and win, but I think you picked out the bug bears I also had fairly well.
I’ve found playing sports much more rewarding than watching them.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are your favorite Complete works movie series?
3·1 month agoStephen Chow’s action comedy movies. Phenomenal stuff. Some of the earlier films are steeped in Chinese folk lore in a way that doesn’t really work for me since I didn’t grow up hearing that, but the rest of em are just stellar, barring a few jokes that haven’t aged well.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•"Pretend" there are no required qualifications or legal and ethical restrictions to becoming the president of the US, who would you like to see in office?
40·2 months agoSomeone who has actually had an American experience. Someone who’s been homeless, who’s worked more than one job just to barely make rent. Someone who’s viewed home ownership as a pipe dream. Someone who’s waited tables. Someone that’s done drugs just for an escape. Someone who’s lost friends and family to those same drugs. Someone who’s had a total stranger express hate for them just for being outside the in-power group.
No more of these disconnected rich pricks who don’t really know how the average person lives.
A great and timely reminder for all that canned pumpkin is literally just as good as fresh.
I’ve personally tested it in 3 dishes, pie, cheesecake and soup, and my friends and family couldn’t tell the difference between canned and fresh.
Go to a farm. Take a hay ride. Wander through the pumpkin patch with your friends and loved ones. Ponder what you’ll carve as you pick the perfect shape to match. Laugh at the oddly shaped gourds. Take some freshly pressed cider home with you and enjoy it cold, mulled with spices, spiked or any combination of those as you carve the pumpkin.
These events mark the time of year and form memories with those you share them with. This is culture.
It isn’t bro’s fault that capitalism ruined the joy of the fall harvest activities. The store feels bereft of life and joy because it is. The pumpkin patch has been commodified because the farmers need to get every dollar they can to compete against the capital of larger farms.
Bro just wanted to partake in his local community and enjoy the changing seasons. Even if it’s not as good, you’ll make memories at the pumpkin patch.
The store is just a store.

There’s A LOT of Christmas media that’s just “there’s someone who doesn’t want to be involved in Christmas and we must force them to be involved, because once they are, they will be saved and love Christmas, like the rest of us”
It’s fucking rough yo
