I’ve done duo lingo for a couple languages. I find it easier to read the language. But without actual conversation with another person. Makes it very hard to grasp the language. I’ve gotten a tip. That watching children shows that use the language are the best way to start. Dora for example.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you were to run for higher office in your country, what controversial thing would the vetting process uncover about you?
141·2 years agoI know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
So you’re actually mentally working 24 hours paid for 12. Got it

16·2 years agoFixing small things. My friends or family need something fixed that doesn’t require a professional. I like figuring out how to fix things or at least providing a temporary solution. I do it because I’m helping someone, also I’m building my skill set. A basic search of answers and videos teaching me how to do it properly most times is easy to find. If not I find a way to create a safe temporary solution until they can have one come in. Very fulfilling, especially if you like a challenge.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever been under general anesthesia? What was it like? Did anything strange happen?
3·2 years agoBroke my arm snowboarding. It was totally crooked, they had to put me under to set it. I fell asleep couldn’t move, but was awake the whole time. I just laid there and listened to the doctor and nurses conversations. The second time I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled but they had to do a biopsy on a growth in my jaw. That one was just a count down then I woke up shivering in a medical bed next to other people that got put under. No dreams, just woke up and asked for a blanket.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favorite video game from the 90s?
2·2 years agoI played those 2 because my mom could afford the consoles after much saving, but not much else. Those are the 2 games I got to choose. I even had to play ffvii without a memory card. Sooooo many hours restarting after a power outage or someone turning off the PlayStation. I’m a very very patient person now.

5·2 years agoNow you’re asking a question I can answer. FFVII or Pokemon. That’s all I ever played. Thank you for your time.
TIL that people didn’t get this. I had a similar situation where I would pronounce unleaded as unleeded
