For the moment I tried endeavourOS in a VM and I can’t even get to install brave. I don’t know if it’s a VM issue, endeavourOS issue or I’m just missing something dumb. Do you know if there’s any guide for total total noobs? The windows things won’t be an issue bc I won’t boot windows, I’ll go LMDE + the “gaming” OS that I end up deciding is better for me.
I’ll try that. Maybe not with windows but with any Linux OS that can achieve the goal. Thanks!
I tried it and it made some programs (like DaVinci, which is a priority) stop working entirely. For the vast majority worked, tho.
How did you install Affinity? Was it difficult? I tried installing it in LMDE and had no luck.
I have an Nvidia GPU and Debian’s latest Nvidia driver update is aproximately one year and a half late in comparison with Nvidia’s latest release. That’s probably the main issue and the reason Debian and LMDE (and some other non-gaming focused distros) don’t work for me (just in the gaming and video editing aspect), so I’m definitely discarding them as gaming (and related) single OS’s atm, though if I could I would run Debian as my main and single OS in my PC.
That’s very helpful. I’ll totally have that in mind. Thanks!
Oh, didn’t think it that way. That’s comforting hahah. Thanks!
Ok, I’ll stick to just grub or Limine if it assures more stability, I guess it would be overcomplicating it for nothing. Thanks!
I’ll leave Debian for when I switch from LMDE, because I think I’ll still have the same issues I’m reporting on LMDE. Thank you anyways!
I’ll have that in mind, thanks!
I’ll try not to dual-boot unless it’s the only way; first I’ll stress all options inside LMDE (with makeresolvedeb, VMs, distrobox(?), etc.) and if it still doesn’t solve the issues I’m having in LMDE, I’ll dual-boot (preparing for these cases of course). Thanks!
This quite represents the point where I’m at. I’m prioritizing CachyOS (although there are countersides and other gaming-focused OS’s that can end up being better for me) but got recommended Fedora multiple times by now, so, we’ll see, maybe I end up choosing Fedora. Thank you!

Woah, didn’t know that about grub. I hardly understand what it is, so it leaves me with a question: I don’t know if that makes any sense or goes directly against the nature of the bootloader definition but, can I switch one OS’s bootloader to Limine (got told by another user that grub failed for him with Cachy and switching to Limine solved it) and the other still be grub?
Didn’t know Pop! was Debian based. I guess it’s not ideal for gaming because of drivers not being up to date just like debian?
Sounds very very good. I’ll definitely give it some priority. Thank you!
Very interesting. I saw a video of a DaVinci Resolve user recommending Manjaro to run it, so it adds up. Thanks!
Pretty similar path indeed hahah. Thank you very very much!
Looks sooo damn solid tbh, I’ll check it out more deeply. Sadly it doesn’t match my needs since the color grading aspect requires some niche characteristics that for the moment (and honestly seems like in the future too) kdenlive doesn’t support, and doesn’t have much reasons to do it, of course. Thank you anyways!
I tried it only via terminal. I’d try it on the store but I can’t even find it. I searched for more information adapted to my absolute beginner level and didn’t find anything that helped me. I tried using pacman and yay but everytime there’s an issue with the mirrors, core or whatever other reason I can’t comprehend. I used the cmd on LMDE quite a lot more than I may have needed, but unless you want to do highly specific things, you don’t need it that much, but I could be wrong. For the moment I find apt way easier to use and more practical.
