Anta baka?!

Exactly what Google was trying to enforce with their mandatory developer verification/app signing until they backed down. Hopefully that lasts for a while, but the future of open computing isn’t bright…

If by “enshitification” you mean things like invasive ads, invasions of privacy, etc, then the idea is absolutely that making money through a paid tier can stave off the company having to resort to those means.

It REALLY rambles, but man, it feels really hard to claim this is just an autocomplete not - it seems like it actually understands the logic.
I mean, it’s kind of silly to lock it behind Discord, but just forcing admits to have a Discord account isn’t that egregious. You’re not forced to use it outside of communicating with Bluesky admins (or whatever goes on in that server).

I don’t get it. You’re a socialist, sure, and the USSR was socialist, but you think they’re socialist now? You think that Putin is a socialist. Poor fool.
Are you sure that’s true? All content from all other federated servers are hosted on all other servers? That certainly doesn’t sound right; I thought that the fediverse protocol just allowed us access to other servers running the protocol, not that our instance actually runs content from their instance.
Federation does not by definition require giving admins the ability to censor content. The Fediverse implementation unfortunately does, but it sure didn’t need to.

You do? To be frank, I rarely do unless I’m unfamiliar with the intersection, and neither do 95% of the other people I see on the road. I live in the US.

I wouldn’t give them any credit for that. I would sure bet you that they just decided that building USB-C iPhones for Europe and Lightning for everywhere else would be more expensive than what they ended up doing.
