Linux@lemmy.ml•Weird issues after swapping GPU from nVidia to AMD: audio crackling and mouse cursor "lagging" and going crazy
1·1 day agoI have crackling issues sometimes too in games. It comes and goes.
On mint, 15 year old cpu and a rx 6700 card.
Like others said, make sure its not psu or mobo. Check your psu fan, for starters. They die often and the pc will run but act very weird and eventually shut down abruptly.
Im actually using 1 pc with a dead psu fan and I throttle the graphics card so it doesn’t crash, it works.
Change to pipewire if you didnt…

1·3 days agoIt must be! Ignorance is bliss, lol
Doesn’t work for me either. Wayland broke my volume keys, and my left ctrl and caps lock keys. Also makes jellyfin go black.
X11 just works…

Kagi, searx are fricken awesome and much like the web in mid 2000s before corporations destroyed it.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•It will not be long before we see ads claiming no ai was used in their product
1·3 days agoYeah probably. Still not good for new people or interns etc. People believe what it tells them.
I can see it helping in some ways, but for the example you gave id rather talk to an actual human. Its very strange to me to feed my thoughts into a datcenter so it can predict what I want to hear.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•People are completely used to autotune in music now, and the same will happen with ai usage
11·3 days agoYeah its a bad deal. But people say its their new Google, and they’re not going to stop using it

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•People are completely used to autotune in music now, and the same will happen with ai usage
11·3 days agoObviously S&G had nothing of the sort, it didnt exist at the time.
Im not going to ask for a list of artists and look up every mixing engineer to see if they are against autotune or not. I guarantee there’s music you listen to that has it being used (unless obviously, its instrumental music etc) because everyone uses it to sound pro. Just like they will use ai to “sound pro”.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•People are completely used to autotune in music now, and the same will happen with ai usage
13·3 days agoI can see that. I still would be a little cautious of any artist using “ai tools” to fix their mixes.
It soon balloons into “we’ll, the ai can do better guitar parts so have it do it all” and no one knows the difference.

11·3 days agoOk sure, bands with no clean vocals likely wouldnt need it, obviously. there would be no need.
There’s still likely a ton of editing in their songs, but thats not really what im talking about.

Have you seen Frequency? Awesome time travel ish movie thats not super popular…
Also, life is strange (first one) has sweet time travel mechanics. Worth a play
