Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Has Reddit’s traffic really quadrupled in 6 months?
16·2 years agoWhere did everyone go? I thought Lemmy was the new hangout but it still seems so small, even popular posts are only getting a handful of comments?

World News@lemmy.ml•Hard Evidence Just Dropped that Shows the British Media is Complicit in Israel’s Genocide
1·2 years agoYou’re making a serious claim about war crimes at a level comparable to the SS. My question was, where are you getting this information from. It would be useful to counter some of the pro Israel media bias we see otherwise.

4·2 years agoGenuine question; how do you know that? Is there an alternative news outlet that focuses on the Gazan perspective (without the equally bad hyperbole they also seem prone to).

84·2 years agoOh, How I long for the olden days… I would literally die for a fresh glass of water plucked from a local stream. The copious amounts of lead and mercury combine with the rich abundance of feces, microbacteria and other organic matter, to create a pure, natural live giving elixir.
Now all of that has been removed and replaced with modern plastic. No thanks

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was the piece of media so emotionally overwhelming you just stopped it?
71·2 years agoIrreversible. A French film (alarm bells already) that disturbs me even to this day.
Makes you grateful for your loved ones and how fragile life can be, how one unlucky encounter can flip everything on its head and you may have no influence over any of it.
Difficult viewing for sure and the message shouldn’t be to live in fear but to enjoy every good moment you get.

1·2 years agoNot strictly a podcast, but Mentour Pilot on YouTube does a really good job of this too. Has some great visuals but would work as audio only too.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Any Interesting (**Not** Disturbing) Podcasts?
2·2 years agoVery well made and researched. Very engaging. My favourite is the Blueprint for Armageddon as it covers more recent history which I personally find more relatable, and therefore more powerful, than the other topics. I would love a WW2 series. His arguement is that it is already very well documented from other sources, but I think Dan could really do it justice. zooming in on a specific part of the conflict would be great.

But what about Bowie? Why his name being dragged through the mud
