Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What’s the weirdest way of stress release that you heard of?
1·2 years agoAh, the funky Spiderman.
Notifications fucking suck, if it isn’t either my alarm or my grandma’s emergency button, my phone ain’t gonna do a damn thing to alert me.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•With the advances of medicine in the coming millennium casual conversations might be like "I'm 245", "Oh, I'm 332", "Damn, I'm just 119"
2·2 years agoIf that was the natural progression for naming conventions we all would be named like Elon Musk’s children.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•"Don't judge a book by its cover." is a bad idiom, because bookcovers are desinged to represent the content of the book.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•My friend sold his Video Game Collection, it just made me have a midlife crisis at 29. Is this normal?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you could have one small thing as a superpower. What would it be and why?
15·2 years agoI would like to know every song’s lyrics upon hearing the first 10 seconds, think of the karaoke nights 🎤
Really? Why do you say so? I always found it pretty usable, in mobile some buttons being so near the edges can be pretty uncomfortable tho.
I was desktop-only during my whole college studies and gotta say, I really enjoy the freedom that working from a laptop gives you (especially being a remote worker). I like the fact that I can now dedicate my desktop setup for gaming and entertainment, it keeps work and daily life separated :)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Every generation has some product/ingredient that they didn’t know was dangerous at the time: tobacco, lead, asbestos, etc. What is that item for this generation?English
3·2 years agoWhat’s a good alternative? I used to love those teflon pans back when I was a teen.
Some people find Slay the Spire’s art ugly. Personally I find it creative and original, definitely more personality than if it was just another pixel art game. 😁

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favorite open source software?English
2·2 years agoI’d say it is still more in the ‘Firefox v. Chrome’ ground, used to a degree where it is aknowledged, but still not the most used by a good chunk. It keeps gaining ground tho, so the future looks bright :D
Not one per se, but I love when a piece of open source software absolutely destroys it’s competition. I’m not talking Firefox vs. Chrome or Unity vs. Godot debate (both are better, don’t @ me), I’m talking when it’s not even close, the open alternative is just industry standard.
VLC, Calibre, OBS and maybe Blender come to mind.

I just realized thunder+bird is wordplay for fire+fox. Damn am I slow.
