Technology@lemmy.world•China stages first-ever humanoid robot kickboxing match - Asia Times
304·7 months agoHere’s the final round. Honestly, the robots did better than I expected. This is fun, but I think we’re 5-10 years away from CCP giving these robots guns and deploying them against humans.
Nothing much. Just messing around on here and playing !Wordle@lemmy.world and !retrogaming@lemmy.world while I’m waiting for my turn at the DMV. If I can find good art of Luigi Mangione flying with a balloon or something, I’ll post it my old subreddit.
Encoding the source URL in the screenshot’s metadata is not bad. That would preserve the source credit in places where people simply copy your image and post it somewhere else. We’d have to make sure it’s not saving the full URL of a private conversation, where the full URL might leak a private key or a session ID. Can’t let someone turn on this feature and then accidentally doxx themselves.
Suppose I did fake a screenshot, and I supplied a source link. Anyone could click my link, read the real thing, and call me out on my bullshit. That’s the way it should be.
Source: Reddit after I rewrote the page’s text with Firefox’s developer tools
I wanted to archive that tone-deaf tweet in case that Nazi deletes it, but apparently Wayback Machine has trouble archiving Twitter in particular.
Source: Wayback Machine’s error page when trying to save that tweet
I like this, but it’s better to always link to the source of your screenshot. Art communities like mine are strict about always citing sources, and I wish the rest of the internet would cite sources. For example:
Source: Twitter via Jewish Telegraphic Agency because I’m not giving going to give that tweet any engagement

7·1 year agoNice. I’m gonna give Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard a chance to write like me. Here goes:
Artificial intelligence is not a problem with the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure y yo no se que es eso de la vida de mi vida y no me gusta que me lo diga así sea yo no soy yo la que no me gusta estar contigo y tu como estas mi amor y tu como estas mi amor 😍
Uh, thanks for the Spanish? Translated:
Artificial intelligence is not a problem with the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure and I don’t know what that is about the life of my life and I don’t like it when you tell me so be it I’m not the one who doesn’t like being with you and how are you my love and how are you my love 😍

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft tries to convince Windows 10 users to buy a new PC with full-screen prompts
14·1 year agoHas anybody found a way to turn Microsoft’s ads off yet? I’m tired of dismissing their prompts to switch to Edge and Office 365 every few months.
Gah, it happened again. This reply to this Bluesky post didn’t make it to Bluesky. I wonder if it’s because I included two links to Xitter.
Whoa, yeah. I sent a second reply, and that time it actually made it to Bluesky. I’ll chalk it up to early adopter jank. We’re used to it on Lemmy and Mbin.
I’m trying Bridgy Fed, but it’s too janky. My Bluesky friends and I are able to follow each other and see each others’ posts. But, I tried to respond to a Bluesky post and Bluesky never saw my reply.
I like chess, but I can’t think that fast. At that speed, I can only do !anarchychess@sopuli.xyz : push pawns, fork things with knights, always take en passant, and try not to blunder away the queen.
Me too! My weekly stream is becoming more of a yearly stream. My work schedule doesn’t really allow for consistent streams, but maybe that’ll change soon.
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, practicing the any% route so I can play it onstream soon.
That’s when I’m not distracted with !Balatro@lemm.ee on my phone.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmy's how do you feel about Kamala Harris now that she picked Tim Walz? Will you vote for her or the orange?
1·1 year agoThe fascists we’re talking about are strictly Trump and his followers. Other conservatives are also bad, but not bad enough to overthrow the government and install a dictator.
As for the argument that a vote for a third party is a vote for the bad guy, I’m not so sure. I voted against Biden in the primaries because we can do better. But when tens of millions of people are going to vote to install a dictator, the rest of us need to be united behind one candidate long enough to defeat them. Someday, third parties will be viable, but not this year.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmy's how do you feel about Kamala Harris now that she picked Tim Walz? Will you vote for her or the orange?
51·1 year agoThis is true. There are two kinds of people who would vote orange. There are those too dumb to understand that he’d make himself dictator, and consequently too dumb to use the Fediverse. Then, there are those smart enough to understand those things and evil enough to want a dictatorship, and they’re mostly on those tankie/fascist instances everyone else defederated. Neither of those groups will ever see this thread.

3·1 year agoThe fascists want to convince you that your vote doesn’t matter. Defy the fascists and vote. Besides, the state and local races make more of a difference anyway, so at least show up for those.
Mine points to a Tumblr blog that I don’t really use anymore because I’m posting here instead. I ought to turn it into a more professional portfolio page and use some of the other ideas in this thread. I have email at that domain thanks to my legacy free Google Workspace I’ve had for like 15 years.

I first read “Xian” as “fan of Xi Jinping”, and then this comment would have made sense. But no, Joe Rogan claims to have become a Christian.
