Human-driven climate change will accelerate the Holocene mass extinction, ending Homo Sapiens - and with us will go all carbon-producing industry.

The carbon thing finds its equilibrium after some tens of thousands of years, and the climate stabilizes some hundreds of thousands or millions of years after that. And then, provided the biosphere wasn’t damaged beyond its ability to compensate or regulate for the increased solar luminosity that has occurred since the last “Hot-House Earth” climate, it will recover and heal.

And if not, then we’ve killed everything down to the tardigrades, and probably them too, and we end up with a runaway greenhouse Venus type situation some 0.3 - 0.6 billion years early.

As if the gelatinous tub of whale meat has enough of an attention span to remain focused on an entire military campaign?

Much would be solved if we were to eat one of them. I mean, it works for the chimpanzees…

Sadly, oue focus is such that we as a culture are incapable of maintaining attention past a few news cycles. Why the distract/delay tactic they are employing is so effective.

We can either focus our attention/outrage on the current POTUS who is doing everything in his considerable power to destroy the rule of law and our ability to hold the others accountable

Or

A guy who was last relevant when we frosted our tips, used 56K dial-up, and when the movie Office Space was having its initial theatrical run.

With no one to report facts, the narrative can be constructed to say anything they want.

A commercial incentive?

If you want to commercialize solving the ills of society, you end up with death camps as being simply the end result of efficiency.

If you want to solve the problems of various demographics rather then viewing them as gender-specific instances in order to benefit the whole of society you get, among other benefits, a lot less genocide.

Oh man… probably should have passed laws to regulate data harvesting and digital privacy back in the 90s
