Here’s a dad’s reply in a similar place - Win 11 is fine. I put it off for a very long time and just upgraded a couple weeks ago. It hasn’t really been an impact.
Is Linux better? Yes. Does win 11 just work without too much fuss? Yes.
I still have Linux on many machines in my house except for my gaming rig, just because I don’t want to have to break it and spend time refreshing it because my Linux skills aren’t up to par. I have a full time job and young kids and don’t have as much tinkering time as I used to.
That being said, I’m migrating ALL machines that aren’t compatible with win 11 to Linux to avoid tossing them in a landfill like many will do, like my son’s gaming PC.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?
1002·8 months agoAs an American it was just what we were taught. However, when I started creating code and being pedantic about organizing files by date, I now prefer YYYYMMDD format as it is, chronologically speaking, superior when prefacing files with it. In this case, in my opinion, it’s better to have the year and then month first prior to day.
To each their own, variety is the spice of life.

Technology@lemmy.world•A Foot Pedal To Supplement Your KeyboardEnglish
10·10 months agoUnfortunately, those foot pedals are incredibly cheap in their construction. All plastic with a metal spring. Typically the plastic rod holding the upper piece to the lower piece is what breaks first. I’ve gone through many over the years using them as my push to talk button for various programs like teamspeak, mumble, and discord.
It’s handy (or footy - ha! Dad joke) though to give yourself another key you can map to something other than your hands.

2·10 months agoYou guys are so out of the loop! RFK Jr has known about this and has been speaking about it since at least 2001 when he had that brain worm removed.
Hey, I’m glad you can pull it off! I would look really weird with a shaved head. I would think there’s still maintenance involved though. How often do you have to shave it?
