My EDC is a Spyderco Para 3, but IMHO Kershaw is a great budget brand. I really like the Iridium, but the finish is a bit too delicate for my taste because I keep my knife in the same pocket with my keys.

There are other kinds of monitors that come pretty close, but definitely not for under $100. For example, the Nebula display on some Asus laptops, or the Nixeus NX-EDG34S (which is no longer available, but I assume there are equally good monitors available using the same tech).

My bathroom has a sliding glass door and I hate it even more now.

Larger than they would be for visible light, yes, but not necessarily larger than human eyes. Birds, for instance, can have amazing vision with much smaller eyes.

Elon Musk is Temu Lex Luthor.

They have the same vibe, but Lucille is kind of a buffoon, whereas Mallory gets shit done.

Conservatism

I saw it up close with my naked eyes. No goggles needed.

You’ve described the reasons why aliens that see in the radio spectrum would never evolve in the first place. Aliens from a particularly cool star might have their vision attuned to infrared, but no place that’s warm enough to have liquid water would be cold enough to make radio waves more useful than infrared.
Have you tried asking Google Translate?

I suspect most people think port and starboard are just synonyms for left and right. I did for a very long time. And you also have to consider non-native speakers who might not know the nautical terms at all.
The trains where I live say “on my right” and “on my left”. It sounds a little weird hearing an automated voice speaking in the first person, but it’s concise and gets the message across to people who won’t know nautical terms.

I think the abundance of trans women (≈ women who were raised as boys) is proof the social conditioning the only factor in why there aren’t more women in STEM fields. Women love this shit just as much as men, but they’re actively steered away from it.
(Yes, women face other challenges beyond lack of exposure, but I think all of them can be traced back to social factors as well, such as how men are conditioned to treat women.)
IMHO Coq is a much worse name, because everyone knows what a cock is.
What if I told you bookmarks and tabs have a lot of overlapping use cases, and people prefer one or another because they have different workflows, or just as a matter of personal preference?

We don’t. That’s just the normal way most people pronounce numbers with a decimal point. The big exception is prices: $1.32 is often pronounced “one thirty two”.
I applaud the writers of that episode for doing that, but I’ve seen too many episodes/movies where people use alien technology with no indication they have a hard time with the interface, or where a Federation ship outright trades equipment with previously uncontacted aliens, and it just works. Hell, even Trip’s reproductive system is so compatible with an alien’s that she can get him pregnant! And don’t even get me started on how often people just walk up and use a control panel to access sensitive systems without needing to present any kind of credentials.

That’s called having just one distro.
I’m not gonna listen to Geordi because he lives in an alternate universe where everything is compatible with everything else.
Wait until people find out about the Linux kernel. It does so many things!
