And seasons 9 & 10. Should have left it where it ended at the end of season 8.

I literally can’t sleep right now because I’m thinking about work tomorrow night.
And it makes a nice little arts and crafts project in-between delivery orders!
Hey now I’m not that ancient, I was listening to Amish Paradice in high school, but I am getting to the age where I need to schedule a colonoscopy…
TIL I still need to schedule that colonoscopy

Linux@lemmy.ml•780k Windows Users Downloaded Linux Distro Zorin OS in the Last 5 WeeksEnglish
7·14 days agoZorinOS is a decent stepping stone for those coming from windows. It was my first Linux daily driver when I made the switch. It got me comfortable enough with Linux to dive in and start learning before I started distro hopping. I ended up on Mint and now just recommend that, but Zorin got me over the hump to become a full time Linux user.
Might be fun to make a live USB and see how much it’s changed in the last ten years. I’ve got a 4 day weekend coming up… might have to try that.

Honestly any industry where you see confidential information or proprietary information, could pose a massive threat to customers. Just knowing how much of a product your competitors are shipping to a location can tell you a lot of what they are planning.

Technology@lemmy.world•Widespread Cloudflare outage blamed on mysterious traffic spikeEnglish
12·19 days agoTraffic spikes, on the Internet? One in a million chance! Now tow cloudflare outside the environment and call it a day.
Honestly I’d welcome this, the Linux podcasts I listen to are still going on and on about nix. At least it would be something different.
When someone is switching from windows to Linux the first distro I recommend is Linux Mint. Mint feels similar enough to Win7 that any windows user can drop in and learn it in no time, my, tech illiterate, 76 year old mother has been trying a Mint live USB and has needed very little help.
I say start with Mint and get to know Linux, then if you want to try other distros you can, but at least you’ll have a solid foundation to jump off from.
What ever you choose, welcome to Linux!

6·1 month agoI have friends and family with good eyesight and they can tell a difference. Sadly even with Recent prescription lenses I still can’t see a difference. Eh, at least I can save on TV’s since 1080p is cheaper.

14·2 months agoMy guess, the CFO showed that using AWS saves the company a few cents to a fraction of a cent per what ever unit they measure by. Those few cents to a fraction of a cent add up when multiplied by the millions or hundreds of millions of units and that savings makes the CEO look like they are more profitable and can give shareholders more profit.
When everything is about the quarterly results and the need to always show growth so the board and shareholders don’t fire you, you’ll cut corners and take the risk, as long as it has the potential to make you look good.

37·2 months agoMy mom’s laptop self “upgraded” to win 11 a while back and she hates it and has been having issues nonstop. And since she refuses to pay a monthly subscription for office I set her up with Libre office. She’s been resistant to Linux but as I slowly add more FOSS apps she’s coming around. She’s now willing to try a Linux Mint live USB.
I’m going to be on the lookout for one of these perfectly good laptops and throw Mint on it for her so she can keep her windows laptop until she’s ready to fully make the switch.

1·2 months agoYep, I ran Mint on a system 76 laptop for 8 years. Just retired it because the hardware is starting to give out, the OS is still running strong.

Kingpin (2003) was really good.
