Why does this even work though? WEBP and PNG are very different file formats yet for some reason this has always worked for me as well. Is windows automatically converting the files? I haven’t checked if changing the file extension changes the file size.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Steam Deck sales still going strong over three years later
7·9 months agoSame, sadly there probably wont be a steamdeck 2 for a while considering valve is working on the deckard, I REALLY hope they announce it sooner rather than later though. I gave my steamdeck to my girlfriend and I’m waiting next gen.

Technology@lemmy.world•I installed Linux on this 8-inch mini laptop, and it's my new favorite way of computingEnglish
5·9 months agoIts very hard to beat the laptop form factor for productivity, but i wish there was more laptops out there with all the ports and hardware features i would like. too bad that some of them are only really available in obscure cyberdecks

35·10 months agoI think that people give shows like the walking dead too much shit for having dumb characters when people in real life are far stupider
they’ve been doing this for a long time. the issue you are having is the reason I keep bitlocker disabled on my desktop. on devices that can be stolen I still use it.
not rage bait, genuinely asking because thus far i’ve only heard of other “computer nerds” using Lemmy in any capacity.
My dad looks at Reddit for advice on fixing our washing machine and similar stuff. And I’ve got friends that use it as a slightly more text-based pinterest
yeah, there’s a decent amount of people that use Reddit’s popular subs that aren’t terminally online.
a nerd. I’m just wondering because I’d like it know if any normal people are leaving Reddit to use Lemmy. doesn’t look like it.
I wouldn’t have any actual problems doing the dual boot itself, its just that I don’t want to deal with not having my data synced between operating systems
allowed, yes. but switching between multiple operating systems on the same device is simply a pain in the ass.
Linux is, in general far better than windows in my experience. its just that certain must-have applications are only available on windows
yes, but lossless scaling is closed source and the developer has decided not to try adding Linux support. supposedly its because of it’s reliance on windows capture apis
I’ve loved using Linux on my steamdeck to game, but sadly I cant really switch because of lossless scaling. LSFG is too good to stop using, and there’s no Linux equivalent. not even afmf2 works on linux
This is the only thing he’s ever done or said that I agree with, even though his real intentions are obvious. We really do need a complete re-writing of IP law, but not from Elon.
part of it is that on 75% the numpad is optional, and it gives you more desk space for other things
its really a matter of personal preference, but I prefer to have more space for my mousepad and coffee, rather than a larger keyboard just for the sake of it. even if I did want a numpad, (which I don’t because I prefer macropads) I would want to be able to move it around separately from the keyboard
nah 75%'s are more popular than tkl right now for a reason, its more compact and gives you basically the same function.

Not sure why most games cant/dont do this, but i’ve seen Minecraft shaders use temporal upscaling exclusively on the clouds, reflections, and shadows. while using fxaa for the rest of the image.
