Yep, drives me nuts when they call burgers sandwiches. If you gotta classify them together, call them handhelds.

Metal Gear Solid?

I’d argue that they wouldn’t know what the danger is anyways.
That would be hilarious if someone made a website showing how they are using pirated Nintendo games (complete with screenshots of the games, etc) to show how they are “training” their AI just to watch Nintendo freak out.
I switched from EmuDeck to RetroDeck, mainly because I wanted to sync everything between multiple computers using SyncThing and EmuDeck throws data everywhere (mainly due to using Flatpaks).
I set up RetroDeck the way I wanted it and then I ran the installer for EmuDeck, choosing the option to uninstall (was a while back, my mind is hazy on the details). It actually did uninstall it, though I think I had to delete a couple directories. It was pretty cleanly uninstalled, from what I recall.
Now I only have to sync one directory for RetroDeck, which also makes backups easy. The install also feels a lot more simple.

For the time being, Proton is good enough for me. I think devs/publishers refusing to enable their chosen anticheat to work with Proton is what is holding things back now for tech people. For other people, there’s even bigger challenges, and I doubt they even read up on these “tech nightmares” so they’re good with just continuing on with Windows.
I’d love to see another player, but I don’t think this is it.

Maybe I need to give Cyberpunk 2077 another shot.

Like, from just reading the headline, it doesn’t seem very onion-y. It’s not just perfectly believable, but I sort of assumed that that is what happened.

Before private lobbies in GTA, I remember blocking ports for GTA in my firewall except to my friends’ IP addresses, which worked for a while.

GTA Online has terrible monetization and Rockstar are openly hostile towards PC as a platform, but I wouldn’t call GTA mediocre at all. There’s nothing quite like the attention to detail or breadth of GTA games. If you’ve played a few GTA clones, you’ll know what the competition looks like and it’s not even close.

I don’t want to discount what you saw, but I don’t think Linux gamers are even asking for official support. If they don’t want bug reports from Linux gamers because the reports would be “tainted” by an unsupported operating system, then they could have a banner on the submission page. I would argue, however, that they would be missing out on a lot of free bug testing where all of these companies are far too cheap to pay for proper bug testing these days.
At this point, Linux gamers would just appreciate the bare minimum being put forth with developers not breaking the games for them.

They would still pretend. And, though it would solve a lot of problems, it would remove purpose for so many people.

I work with a guy who suddenly developed this in the middle of a call. I had to help him back to the office, stopping so he could puke a couple times. He was gone for a while and I don’t think he ever got rid of it.

And it’s still a brick, lol.

Or it could be like how our competition bureau is being forced to pay $13 million to Rogers Cable for inconveniencing them with an investigation when Rogers Cable decided to buy Shaw Cable. And the deal went through. Can you imagine?

Devil’s advocate, but by that logic you’d be good with people wandering around with swastikas proudly displayed?
For my opinion, I don’t think banning clothing or telling women what to wear is the answer but religious items are definitely symbols of sometimes very sexist ideologies. I just wish true equality was achievable so these stupid conversations and laws didn’t exist. Honestly, I don’t spend a whole lot of time thinking about it, though.

At the time, I hated using these things. Mac OS 9 would lock up unexpectedly (generally Windows wouldn’t blue screen while simply typing up a document whereas these iMacs would just freeze, requiring you to stick a paperclip into a hole like ejecting a CD drive manually). The keyboard was terrible, mouse was worse and the speakers were only good to play notification dings.
This author of the article has some real rose-tinted glasses.
Who was 400 years old from Krynn? Sylvara? It’s been a long time since I’ve read those books.
