Finally, I do not believe this will remain only for the 16- age group. I am aware this is extreme speculation, but this may eventually roll out to some “dangerous” adults, then union workers (again, “dangerous), then women, then everyone that is not wealthy enough to bribe oneself into social media. I also believe this is one of many steps to castrate the future of the young, and to control the narrative.

Haven’t used Grammarly in years; however, I can tell you a couple of cons Harper has, compared to Grammarly:

1: It is English-only, for now, although it has all common English dialects

2: It sometimes gets pronunciations of abbreviations wrong, although this is getting less and less common, since the developers work a lot on it

3: There aren’t plugins for it on certain editors (e.g. Notepad++), although it has for Chromium/Firefox, VS Code, among others

4: It does lack many style suggestions, but I shall reiterate that they’re working on it

Some peopne may need RAM, however.

Xfce is pretty polished; however, you need to theme it to look good. On the other hand, even some themes from the 2000s should just work, so there’s that. Either way, Cinnamon looks quite good, so if you’re happy with it, good for you!

First, try LibreOffice instead of OpenOffice; it is a highly maintained fork of the latter, with plenty of improvements. Another thing is, even if there are GUIs for everything, do not be afraid of using the terminal! As another commenter noted, it can even be easier. As for passwords, it is like that for security purposes; if you disable it, you’ll be at a higher risk of breaking something.
